“The Pre-Carnegie Hall concert I had in Manila happened so fast for me, but now I feel that I am more ready than ever for Carnegie Hall. Singing in front of an audience, and sharing my life onstage is my therapy,” Stephanie Reese tells BroadwayWorld.com Philippines.

“I always feel that I am a performing artist, and what genre I am simply depends on the moment. The best way to capture myself is to come to a show where I do a duet with the audience. All of the proceeds of my Carnegie Hall performance will go to the victims of the typhoons “Ondoy” and “Pepeng” in the Philippines. Now, you don’t only care about selling tickets just for your ego, you care about making money to help others,” she adds.

Reese stages her first concert at the Carnegie Hall (Judy & Arthur Zankell Hall) in New York City on November 7, 2009, Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Reese, who is part Filipino, is the third Filipino solo performer (after pop singer Regine Velasquez and Broadway star Lea Salonga) to sing at the famed concert hall.

Aside from essaying Kim in MISS SAIGON, she has portrayed Esmeralda in the Disney World Premiere of HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME in Germany, Princess Tuptim in KING AND I in London, and Sophie and Sharon in MASTER CLASS in Los Angeles.

Reese studied opera at Indiana University, and at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music for Musical Theater. She was a dedicated student of the late vocal coach Eileen Manzin of Juilliard.

Her Carnegie Hall repertoire features cabaret, opera, Broadway, and original songs.

Tickets are $75-$135, and are available by telephone at Carnegie Charge (212) 247-7800 or online at www.carnegiehall.org. For more information about the show, contact Elton Lugay of Gawad Kalinga in New York at (212) 417-0419 or visit www.stephaniereese.com.
