At the Globe Tower in Bonifacio Global City last weekend, 9 Works Theatrical's Artistic Director Robbie Guevara, Artistic Associate Director Mio Infante, Managing Director Santi Santamaria, and Globe's Head of Retail Transformation and Stores Management Joe Caliro sat behind the auditions table.

The roles up for grabs were Johnny, Lead (Male, at least 18 years old); Tunny, Lead (Male, at least 18 years old); Will, Lead (Male, at least 18 years old); St. Jimmy, Support (Male, at least 18 years old); Heather, Support (Female, at least 18 years old); Whatsername, Support (Female, at least 18 years old); Extraordinary Girl, Support (Female, at least 18 years old), and Ensemble, Support (Males and Females, at least 18 years old).

AMERICAN IDIOT, the smash Broadway and West End musical based on Green Day's phenomenal album of the same name, tells the story of three boyhood friends: Johnny, Will, and Tunny who live in a complicated post 9/11 world. Winner of two Tony Awards, Best Scenic Design of a Musical for Christine Jones and Best Lighting Design of a Musical for Kevin Adams, and winner of the Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album, AMERICAN IDIOT opened on Broadway in 2010 and in the West End in 2015. Besides the hit songs from the album AMERICAN IDIOT such as "American Idiot," "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," "Holiday," "Wake Me Up When September Ends," and "Jesus of Suburbia," the musical also includes several songs from Green Day's "21st Century Breakdown" album and an unreleased ballad "When It's Time."

AMERICAN IDIOT, the musical, was written by Billie Joe Armstrong and Michael Mayer, with music by Green Day and lyrics by Billie Joe Armstrong who occasionally performed the role of St. Jimmy when the show played on Broadway.

AMERICAN IDIOT will make its Manila premiere in June.
