Join us as PSiP actors read Macbeth in the Rachel Mellon Walton room, Posner Hall, CMU, followed by a light reception and a Q&A with actors and CMU’s Dr. Stephen Wittek. Attendees at our Tuesday Macbeth reading will also have an exclusive opportunity to get up close and personal with the most influential secular book in the history of human print! CMU Libraries will have on display for the event a very rare copy of the 1623 Folio of Shakespeare's Complete Works. With thanks to CMU Libraries, the Department of English, and the Center for Print, Networks, and Performance (CPNP). (Please note that Posner Hall and Posner Center are two different buildings. Posner Hall is on the corner of Margaret Morrison Street and Tech Street. The Rachel Mellon Walton room is on the ground floor, on the right when entering through the door that faces the tennis courts. The Macbeth reading is part of our Week of Will - a week long celebration of Shakespeare's birthday. Other events include the Bard Walk in Schenley Plaza on Saturday April 19, at 2:00: have a cupcake on us at the Shakespeare statue in front of the Carnegie Museum, then wander over to Schenley Plaza to stroll through the park and watch PSiP actors demonstrate the infinite variety we bring to performance with scenes and soliloquys remixed, including Yinzer, Spanish, singing, and dance. Our Week of Will will finish up with Ciphers to this Great Accompt, a Shakespeare-themed puppet slam on Sunday April 27 at 7:00 at the Ice House Studios, Lawrenceville — an unforgettable evening of live and filmed short puppet performances by local, national, and international artists—all inspired by Shakespeare’s plays, poetry, and life. See our website www. PittsburghShakespeare.org for registration and details.
