Simpatico Theatre Company Teams Up With West Philadelphia Orchestra For Dance Party Benefit

West Philadelphia Orchestra has teamed up with Simpatico Theatre Company to host a special benefit concert and dance party on Tuesday, March 20 at Franky Bradleys in Center City. The show begins at 9PM and admission is a sliding scale of only $7-$10 at the door.

With a line-up of Philadelphia musicians whose influences range from Sun Ra to Bulgarian brass, West Philadelphia Orchestra is a unique live ensemble. They began playing Romanian ballads, Macedonian folk-dance songs, Bulgarian music, and more in late 2006, and have continued expanding their repertoire of Eastern European music. The ensemble also plays original tunes which blend other sounds, like jazz and classical, together with traditional Balkan sounds.

Simpatico Theatre explores stories that celebrate, challenge, and expand our definitions of community and compassion. The company stages thought-provoking work that's grounded in social justice, civil rights, and community service. Simpatico's grassroots dedication to bridging communities fuels their work, reveals avenues of advocacy for audiences, and leads to transformative collaborations in Philadelphia. Their upcoming production, RED BIKE, is part of the National New Play Network's Rolling World Premiere program, and will be staged at Philly PACK starting on June 6.
