In Captain Louie, the new kid in town takes to the sky in this musical tale of imagination and fresh starts. Based on "The Trip" by Ezra Jack Keats with the book by Anthony Stein and music and lyrics by Schwartz, Captain Louie will entertain children of all ages. Louie has just moved to a new town and is nervous to make new friends. Alone in his room, Louie takes flight in his imagination back to his old neighborhood, where he spends Halloween with his colorful crew of chums. Over the course of trick-or-treating and being introduced to the new kid in the neighborhood, Louie discovers that he shouldn't be afraid of making new friends.

Captain Louie plays for four performances Oct. 7-15 in The Raymond W. Smith theater, the black-box space above the PCS lobby at 614 Fairview Rd., in Swarthmore. The theater is not handicapped-accessible. The running time is under one hour. Tickets are $8 for children and $10 for adults (12 and over). Children under 3 are free. Buy tickets online, by calling 866-811-4111, or at the door. The Players Club of Swarthmore offers birthday packages for parents to bring their child's birthday party to the show, including a special meet and greet with the characters. Email childrenstheater@pcstheater.org for more details about birthday parties and group rates.

In addition to Captain Louie, this season's Players Club of Swarthmore Children's Series also includes Really Rosie (March 3-11), Tilly the Trickster (June 16-24) and Alice in Wonderland (Aug. 11-19).
