Philadelphia Theatre Workshop Kicks Off Season With Fundraiser 9/20

By:

Philadelphia Theatre Workshop is kicking off its 2008-2009 season with a Kick-Off Fundraiser on September 20 at 7:00 p.m. at the Ethical Society, 1906 Rittenhouse Square. Tickets cost $25 and are available on the theatre's website at www.philadelphiatheatreworkshop.org.

The evening will include a "Season Preview" which  showcases scenes from the PTW's mainstage plays: "The Mystery Plays" and "The Meatpackers Book Club" and a presentation of the four plays chosen for the annual PlayShop Festival. The second half of the evening is the  "Simple Cabaret,"  a half hour of songs presented by actor/singers who have worked with PTW in the past.  Ticket prices also include a silent auction and food and drink.

The Philadelphia Theatre Workshop season begins November 15 with the Philadelphia Premiere of Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's The Mystery Plays at Walnut Street Theatre's Studio 5.
