No Name Pops to Perform Concert of Movie Scores Including STAR WARS & More

The No Name Pops will present Blockbusters in the Burbs, a concert taking place on Saturday, September 28 at 3 p.m. at Immaculata University in Alumnae Hall, 1145 W King Rd, Malvern, PA. Conductor Evan Roider, music director of the touring production of Wicked, returns to lead the orchestra in a diverse collection of iconic movie scores spanning generations, including music from Forrest Gump, Star Wars, The Incredibles, La La Land, and more. Through the artistry of the entire orchestra, its Big Band ensemble, and talented soloists, the NNP will feature time-honored works from such composers as John Williams, Henri Mancini, Alan Silvestri and Justin Hurwitz, to name a few.

Matt Koveal, Executive Director of the NNP, welcomes the ensemble’s return to this venue. “Immaculata has been incredibly generous inviting us, once again, to perform at Alumnae Hall,” he says. “We are particularly happy to bring back the well-received, combined talents of our orchestra and Evan Roider to our suburban audience. As we experienced last February, Evan and our musicians work together extremely well, producing a sound and a show that are unmatched.”

Evan Roider is a versatile conductor, music director, and pianist, recognized for his work both on the symphonic stage and in the orchestra pit. His 2024-2025 season includes appearances with major orchestras nationwide, some of which include the Detroit Symphony, San Diego Symphony, and the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. He is booked for return engagements with the Sarasota Orchestra, Tucson Symphony, and Greensboro Symphony, and performances with such artist collaborations as the The Manhattan Transfer, Pink Martini, and Michael Feinstein. In addition to his national tour of Wicked, Roider’s previous work includes tours with Les Misérables and Cats. Roider has received the Best Music Director award from Broadway World CT for Evita and significant contributions to new musical works at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center. As a pianist, he collaborates with renowned composers and performs at various prestigious festivals. He holds a Master's in Orchestral Conducting from the University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor's in Piano from the Hartt School.

General Admission tickets are suggested donations at $50 each and can be purchased online at https://nonamepops.org/events/.
