Concerts at the Cathedral Basilica announces an exciting new season presenting the best choral music from around the world in one of Philadelphia's most awe?inspiring venues, the soaring Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, at 18th Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Center City Philadelphia.

Launching its seventh consecutive season on October 28, Concerts at the Cathedral Basilica is the only concert series in Philadelphia dedicated to presenting a full season of concerts by renowned choral artists. This year's artists include the acclaimed ensemble Chanticleer, the Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia, from Minneapolis the superb ensemble Cantus, the Westminster Williamson Voices, and the stunning young voices of the Philadelphia Boys Choir and Chorale.

The Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul offers audiences an immense and beautiful environment in which to savor choral music ranging from intimate ensembles of 10?12 singers to the largest choirs of more than 100 voices heard during the festive Christmas at the Cathedral Basilica on December 11, 2017 and a collaborative presentation of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 in March, 2018 pairing the Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia with Symphony in C, conductor Stilian Kirov, and soloists from the Academy of Vocal Arts.

Philadelphia's historic cathedral, the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul was built from 1846 to 1864 and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The "Cathedral Sound" - the particular acoustic profile of the Cathedral Basilica, sought after by choirs from around the world and once acclaimed by Luciano Pavarotti - is a unique feature of Concerts at the Cathedral Basilica, lending warmth and glow to the singing voice.

Tickets and more information on the series and the artists are available at www.cathedralphilaconcerts.org.
