Celebration Arts presents I Just Stopped By To See The Man, by Stephen Jeffreys. Directed by James Wheatley, I Just Stopped By To See The Man will open June 18, 2010 and show Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. through July 24, 2010. There will be no performance on Sunday June 20, 2010. Celebration Arts Theatre is located at 4469 D Street, Sacramento.

The play tells the story of Jesse Davidson, the greatest living bluesman, long believed dead. Legends surround him. One story concludes that he could only play guitar because he sold his soul to the devil. He has managed to live a quiet, low profile existence down in the Mississippi Delta even after his daughter mysteriously comes to live with him. However, when Karl, a famous rocker, who has been making a fortune off the legend's music, succeeds in finding Jesse the solitude goes out the window.

Ticket price: $15 general and $13 students and seniors. On Thursday night all seats are $8. Tickets online at mycommunitytickets.com. Call (916) 455-2787 for information and reservations
