B. Someday Productions will present the first annual FUNDRAISER for its Barrymore Award-winning theatre outreach program, OF MYTHIC PROPORTIONS on Saturday, September 29, 2012, 6:00 – 10:00pm. The fundraiser will take place near the theatre at Michael's Decorators, 2210 Frankford Avenue in Fishtown. Cost for the fundraiser is $25.00 which will include finger food from French-inspired restaurant, The Pickled Heron, craft beers from Malt House, LTD, St Benjamin Micro-Brewery, homebrewer Joe McAteer, and more.

Keynote speaker for the fundraiser will be Deputy Mayor of the City of Philadelphia/Managing Director Richard Negrin. Mr Negrin will share some stories about his own difficult growing up, and how the Of Mythic Proportions program has helped our city's teens turn violence into art. Celebrity MC and Auctioneer for the evening is Count Scotchula of Philly Fringe/Peek-a-Boo Revue fame who will keep the "FUN" in Fun-raiser!

In addition to gourmet snacks, artisanal beer and wine, supporters will have a chance to bid on raffle and Silent Auction items including sports memorabilia, family fun tickets and bed & breakfast outings.

Of Mythic Proportions, now entering its 7th year, is a storytelling performance program which helps youth from Kensington schools take stories from their own lives and transform them into a piece of live theatre, which they then perform for other students and the community. It is a life-changing event for the students, and the adults who work with them.

Movers and Shakers of the Program:
Michelle Pauls, managing artistic director of B. Someday Productions, created and supervises the Of Mythic Proportions program.

Hannah Tsapatoris MacLeod is the lead Teaching Artist for the Of Mythic Proportions program. She is also a certified yoga instructor and incorporates yoga practice in the program.

Kathleen Gaynor is the main classroom teacher at Mariana Bracetti Academy, the main school where Of Mythic Proportions has been a program for five years.

B. Someday Productions, a 501.c.(3) non-profit theatre-arts corporation, is a small independent producing and presenting theatre company, producing mainstage shows and cabaret productions, educational outreach programs, co-producing comedy, community and family theatre programs. B. Someday was honored with its first Barrymore Award for its outreach program, Of Mythic Proportions in 2010.

Established in 2007, Walking Fish Theatre, home to B. Someday Productions, is located in Kensington, on the Frankford Avenue Corridor of the Arts in Philadelphia. B. Someday is committed, within its community and beyond, to bringing and creating art on the Frankford Avenue Arts Corridor.

B. Someday Productions uses theatre, literature and myth to bring together artists and the community through the magic of live theatre. To that end, B. Someday celebrates tradition while renewing the creative process through producing theatre--original, adaptation and in existence--providing educational programs and operating the Walking Fish Theatre.
