All-Star MIDDLETOWN Comes to Bucks County Playhouse in April

GFOUR Productions, producers of MENOPAUSE THE MUSICAL and Tony-nominated FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, today announced the addition of Don Most, known for his role as Ralph Malph in the hit TV show HAPPY DAYS, to the all-star cast of the new play MIDDLETOWN, an exhilarating and universal depiction of love, life and friendship, and how each endures through the roller coaster of life. Launched in partnership with Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope, Pa., and Delaware Theatre Company in Wilmington, Del., MIDDLETOWN will perform at The Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope, Pa., on Wednesday, April 17 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 19 at 8 p.m., Saturday, April 20 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday, April 21 at 2 p.m. In addition to Don Most, the New Hope cast will feature Cindy Williams, best known for playing Shirley Feeney on the hit TV show LAVERNE & SHIRLEY; Didi Conn, "Frenchy" the beauty school dropout in GREASE; and Adrian Zmed, best known for his starring roles in the BACHELOR PARTY and TV's T.J. HOOKER.

Tickets are on sale now priced at $55 and can be purchased at The Bucks County Playhouse Box Office (70 S. Main Street), by phone (215) 862-2121, or online at www.bcptheater.org.

"When I read MIDDLETOWN out loud, it affected me on a personal level. It has that wonderful combination of comedy and drama. It made me feel delight and simpatico and I think that's what the audience will experience along with us," said Cindy Williams.

"MIDDLETOWN reminds me of a quote I love from an unknown author: 'Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget,'" added Didi Conn. "Peg, the courageous character I will be playing finds strength through her timeless connection to her best friends. This is a subject close to my heart."

A heartfelt and joyful story about two couples reminiscing about their friendship, 33 years in the making, MIDDLETOWN explores the highs, the lows, and everything in between. The initial workshop of MIDDLETOWN received a Carbonell nomination for best new work in 2017 and was originally presented at the Jan McArt Reading Series and West Boca Theatre Company.

"I wanted to tell a relatable 'every-person's' story in a direct and straightforward manner where human emotions are front and center - without bells, whistles, special effects, or props," said writer Dan Clancy, best known for his play THE TIMEKEEPERS, which ran off-Broadway and in Israel for 13 years. "I wanted the words to speak for themselves."

"As Harold Clurman famously said, 'Make 'em laugh and when their mouths are open, pour in the medicine.' When I first read MIDDLETOWN, it followed that sagely advice to a T. I was introduced to four wonderful characters and was swept up in the ride before it took me to some very real places," said Tony Award-winning director Seth Greenleaf. "Dan Clancy's work here is exceptional and in the hands of these great players. I believe audiences are going to have a powerful experience they won't soon forget."
