Banned in Russia, David Lefort Nugent brings his next show, Open the Dark Door, to The New York Musical Theatre Festival beginning October 8th at 8pm.

New York Musical Theater Festival will kick off its sixth season with a Gala Celebration of its first five years, called BEST OF THE FEST, on Monday, April 20th at 7 PM at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues).

Euan Morton has woven the writings of John Lennon and his son Julian, John Denver, Nik Kershaw as well as a few original works of his own with accompanist Bryan Reeder to create an evening of poetry and song entitled 'Stranger in a Strange Land.' He sat down with BWW TV to fill us in on how and why he returns to the New York stage of The Metropolitan Room.

TWILIGHT IN MANCHEGO maps the story of Esau Munsey, who leaves a haunted past in the city to teach fourth grade in a provincial elementary school. But his intentions to provoke change in an outdated education system distract him from the students he really wants to inspire. When Esau's history repeats itself and the small town of Manchego is struck by tragedy, Esau must finally put to rest the ghosts of his past and make peace with himself and his choices.

An epic love story, SOPHIA'S FALL is about the triumph of love over justice and the battle that rages inside each of us. A four-piece rock band and fluid, modern dance choreography round out a dark, tuneful score. SOPHIA'S FALL is an official selection of the 2008 New York Musical Theatre Festival.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) celebrates its fifth year with 24 full productions, a dance series, a developmental series, concerts and special events.
