BWW TV: NYMF presents - Idaho! Part II

Rehearsals for IDAHO! a new musical born (out of wedlock) from the Golden Age of Broadway are well under way. IDAHO! is a big, bawdy, rollicking romp through the tater fields as several couples find themselves and their own true hearts.

In this segment, we learn how some of the actors prepared themselves for their role. It features interviews with Rob Sutton who plays Whip Masters our earthy hero, Elena Shaddow, who plays Cassie Purdy our virgin mail order bride and Jennifer Perry, who plays Aunt Pearlie, the moral center of the town. We also catch a sneak peek of a couple of our big ole dance numbers featuring the cast of IDAHO! and see the creative team in action.

Tickets for IDAHO! have been selling fast ever since the NY Times named the show it's top pick at NYMF and several shows are sold out. IDAHO is being directed by Matt Lenz (Supervising Assoc Dir Hairspray, AIDA and Beauty and the Beast on Broadway and being choreographed by Michele Lynch (Little House on the Prairie, "13", Happy Days", ). Book and Lyrics are by Buddy Sheffield, an award winning TV comedy writer, and Music is by Buddy Sheffield and Keith Thompson, an acclaimed composer and music director.

Tater country is turned spud-side up in IDAHO! when a mail order bride comes to town and falls in love with the wrong man. Born (out of wedlock) from the golden age of musical comedy come a new story...a twisted tale of wife stealin', spud peelin' and double dealin'at a time when men were men and Aunt Pearlie carried the shotgun.


The New York Musical Theatre Festival, Sharon Carr and Richard Winkler present IDAHO! (www.IdahoMusical.com), a new American comedy musical with book, music and lyrics by Buddy Sheffield and music by Keith Thompson.). IDAHO! is a tale of love and sex on the prairie baked to bawdy perfection and set during the "Golden era" of Broadway. From a land where men were men, women were for sale to the highest bidder and the laws of musical comedy were meant to be broken, IDAHO! is an original "high-steppin'" song and dance musical ripped from the earth like a fresh dug spud. The cast features: Rob Sutton, Elena Shaddow, Beth Curry, Stacy Todd Holt, Bill Nolte, Jennifer Perry,Jay Rogers, Ramona Keller, James Tabeek, Blake Hammond, Robbie Roby, Wendy Fox, Joe Grandy, Jessica Hershberg, Holly Holcomb, Daniel Frank Kelly andJessica Sheridan. IDAHO! is directed by Matt Lenz (Supervising Associate Director for Hairspray on Broadway) and choreographed by Michele Lynch (Little House on the Prairie, 13, Happy Days) with musical direction by Christopher D. Littlefield. The set is designed by Charlie Smith and the lighting is designed by Julie Duro. Costume design is by Linda Fisher and sound design is by Lew Mead.

IDAHO! runs September 25th at 8:00pm, September 26th at 5:00pm, September 28th at 5:00pm, September 28th at 9:00 pm, September 30th 9:00pm, and October 4th at 9:00pm at 37 Arts Theatre (450 W. 37th Street).
