The American premiere of John Doyle's Ten Cents a Dance opens today on the Williamstown Theatre Festival (WTF) Main Stage. The refined production of the new Rodgers and Hart musical, which Doyle first conceived at England's Watermill Theatre, marks the first time a new musical has ever been presented on WTF's Main Stage. Ten Cents a Dancewill be the final presentation on the Main Stage for the 2011 Season at WTF, running August 11, 2011 through August 28, 2011 and opening August 12, 2011 at 7:30 p.m.Ten Cents a Dance is a co-production with McCarter Theatre Center. Audra McDonald can now add wedding singer to her resume (alongside winning four Tony Awards). On Sunday, July 24, McDonald was the guest singer at the same-sex wedding of a Bloomberg administration staffer at Gracie Mansion. Bloomberg himself officiated the ceremony. La Jolla Playhouse presents a new adaptation of Sleeping Beauty Wakes, book by Tony Award-winning librettist Rachel Sheinkin (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), with a score by composer Brendan Milburn and lyricist Valerie Vigoda, both of the acclaimed trio GrooveLily (Striking 12, Long Story Short), and directed by Rebecca Taichman, who will also direct The Playhouse's 2011/12 world premiere of Milk Like Sugar. A co-production with Princeton's McCarter Theatre Center, Sleeping Beauty Wakes runs July 19 - August 21 in the Mandell Weiss Theatre. McCarter Theatre is proud to announce complete casting and creative team for Sleeping Beauty Wakes, a new musical featuring a book by Rachel Sheinkin (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), and a score by composer Brendan Milburn and lyricist Valerie Vigoda, both of the acclaimed trio GrooveLily. The production, which runs from April 29 through June 5, will be directed by Rebecca Taichman, who delighted McCarter audiences with her 2009 production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. Opening Night is set for Friday, May 6. Following the McCarter run, the production will move to La Jolla Playhouse.

La Jolla Playhouse presents the Pulitzer Prize-winning play Ruined, by Lynn Nottage (Intimate Apparel, Crumbs from the Table of Joy), directed by South Africa native Liesl Tommy, in the Mandell Weiss Theatre November 16 - December 19 (media night: Sunday, November 21 at 7:00 pm). Ruined is a co-production with Berkeley Repertory Theatre and the Huntington Theatre Company.

Robert Foxworth plays King Lear and Bruce Turk the Fool in Shakespeare's tragedy, directed by Festival Artistic Director Adrian Noble. The crowns are swapped in Alan Bennett's The Madness of George III, also helmed by Noble, where Miles Anderson will play King George III and Foxworth will play Dr. Willis. The Festival also includes Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew directed by Ron Daniels with Jonno Roberts and Emily Swallow as the two sparring lovers.

Following the record-breaking and critically acclaimed engagement of 'American Idiot' at the Berkeley Rep, the production is now Broadway-bound. 'American Idiot' will begin previews in March 2010 and open on Broadway in April at the St. James Theatre. The Broadway cast will be announced shortly.
