The national touring production of MEMPHIS, the 2010 Tony Award-winning Best Musical, kicked off on October 16, 2011 at the Orpheum Theatre in Memphis, TN (203 South Main Street) where it will play through October 23. Check out highlights from the tour below!

Tony nominee Adam Pascal will join the cast of the Tony Award-winning best musical MEMPHIS next week on Tuesday October 25th. This afternoon, October 20th, fans and press got a special preview as Adam performed numbers from the show on the stage of Broadway's Shubert Theatre for the first time with the cast and BroadwayWorld.com was there!

The 2010 Tony winning Best Musical MEMPHIS recently announced a partnership with The Great Atlantic Pacific & Tea Company (A&P) to raise money for New York-area Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Beginning July 4, 2011, customers at all A&P, Pathmark, Food Emporium, Waldbaum's, Food Basics, Super Fresh and Best Cellars stores will be asked to make a donation to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals at the register. Those who donate will also receive a special discount offer for tickets to MEMPHIS on Broadway. The promotion will run through the end of July in more than 360 stores along the eastern seaboard.

Critically acclaimed MEMPHIS won four 2010 Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Original Score (David Bryan and Joe DiPietro), Best Book (Joe DiPietro), and Best Orchestrations (David Bryan and Daryl Waters). MEMPHIS won four Drama Desk Awards including Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Performance by an Actress (Montego Glover), Outstanding Music (David Bryan) and Outstanding Orchestration (David Bryan and Daryl Waters). MEMPHIS has also won four Outer Critic Circle Awards including Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Score (David Bryan & Joe DiPietro), Outstanding Actress (Montego Glover) and Outstanding Choreography (Sergio Trujillo). MEMPHIS wasn't Broadway's only award-winning act during the show's Sunday matinee performance. David McDonald produced a second show-stopping moment when he proposed to his girlfriend at the end of the night.

Last night, September 13, 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' launched its first ever LNJF Broadway Week. The week will showcase all the biggest hits the Great White Way has to offer, from pounding punk rock to 60s swing. Each night this week, Jimmy will welcome a different Broadway musical to the Late Night studios.

Memphis star Montego Glover performed for the Obamas at The Ford's Theatre's annual gala on June 6th. Singing 'Colored Woman' Glover wowed the crowd. The show was telecast on July 2nd.

Memphis took away the 2010 Tony for Best Musical. The show also won honors for Best Book Of a Musical, and Best Original Score (Music and/or Lyrics) Written for the Theatre.
