The Public Theater's production of the new musical LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST, the second show of The Public's 2013 free Shakespeare in the Park season at the Delacorte, recently began previews on July 23. Directed by Alex Timbers, LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST features songs by Michael Friedman with book adaptation by Timbers and will run through Sunday, August 18, with an official opening on Monday, August 12. Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center announced today that the eighth annual edition of BROADWAY BACKWARDS will feature Academy Award winner and four-time Tony nominee Estelle Parsons (Nice Work If You Can Get It), two-time Tony Award winner Judy Kaye (Nice Work If You Can Get It) and two-time Emmy Award-winning comedian Bruce Vilanch.

Lost in the Stars, the second Encores! production of the New York City Center season, running February 3 - 6 at City Center, will feature Chuck Cooper, Daniel Breaker, Patina Miller, Sharon Washington, Daniel Gerroll, John Douglas Thompson and Sherry Boone. Lost in the Stars has music by Kurt Weill and book and lyrics by Maxwell Anderson. It will be directed by Gary Griffin and choreographed by Chase Brock, with music direction by Rob Berman. Broadway Beat got an exclusive sneak peek!

This morning, Tuesday, August 11th, the cast of SHREK THE MUSICAL performed live on NBC's 'The Today Show.' Sutton Foster and cast members performed 'Morning Person' in the 8:30-9:00 a.m. half hour. You can watch the segment right here on STAGE TUBE!

PASSING STRANGE is coming to the big screen in Spike Lee's new film adaptation. The official trailer has been released and we are excited to show it to BroadwayWorld.com Visitors!

On Tuesday, June 2nd, The Cast of the Tony-nominated Best Musical SHREK THE MUSICAL performed live on CBS 'The Early Show.' Daniel Breaker with Jennifer Cody, Sarah Jane Everman and Lisa Ho sang 'Make a Move' in the 8:30-9:00 a.m. half hour. Tony-nominee Brian d'Arcy James also appeared on the show. 'The Early Show' airs nationally on CBS (channel 2, WCBS in the tri-state area).
