The cast of THE ADDAMS FAMILY gathered at Sardi's for the unveiling of a portrait for cast member (and Tony nominee) Kevin Chamberlin. BroadwayWorld.com was there to capture the fun!

Lurch may be known as a mute, but he certainly has lots to say when it comes to writing! This towering mute has been shambling around the house forever. He is not a very good butler, but a faithful one. He is often sent to pick the awful herbs from the garden, for instance, but will often forget the most important ingredient of all, say Eye of Newt. He is shame-faced about his oversight and the object of good-natured ridicule from the family. The children are his favorites and he guards them against good influences at all costs. One eye is opaque, the scanty hair is damply clinging to his narrow flat head. He will gladly undertake to dump boiling oil on the carol singers, but generally the family regards him as something of a joke.

The cast of THE ADDAMS FAMILY is set to head into the studio on April 19th to record the show's previously announced cast recording produced by Decca Broadway. The cast recording is set to be released this June.

Wicked's Kristy Cates, The Addams Family's Zachary James, Jana Robbins and more are set to perform at Tudor City Greens' Stars And Songs Of Broadway concert on June 1 (rain date June 2).

Raissa Katona Bennett is set to host 'Stars and Songs of Broadway' at Tudor City Greens June 1. This free outdoor concert will include Kristy Cates of Chicago's WICKED, Karen Oberlin, Hector Coris, Valerie Lemon, Shana Farr, Jana Robbins, Richard Skipper and Zachary James.

Noted theatre critic Charles Isherwood has written a virtual valentine to theatre favorite Nathan Lane, currently starring on Broadway in the new musical THE ADDAMS FAMILY.

The Broadway productions of LEND ME A TENOR and THE ADDAMS FAMILY will dedicate performances to The Actors Fund on June 27 and July 11, respectively, granting proceeds to the fund in support of their programs and services. Both performances begin at 8pm.

Metropolis Opera Project presents THE M.O.P BUCKET, a listening party of new music by a dozen of America's hippest young composers, Monday May 17th 2010. Founding Director Megan Nelson, The MET's Jessica Kimple, and Lauren Worsham (Conegonde in NYCO's Candide).

The event will feature a panel discussion with Kevin Miserocchi, Director of The Tee and Charles Addams Foundation and author of the new collection of Addams' sketches titled The Addams Family: An Evilution, and the musical's authors - book-writers Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice and composer/lyricist Andrew Lippa. The panel will discuss Addams' body of work and how it informed the musical's creation. The event will also include a performance by Kevin Chamberlin, a Tony nominee for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his role as Uncle Fester.

Borders Columbus Circle presents 'THE ADDAMS FAMILY: From Page to Stage' May 14. Appearing at this event will be book writers Rick Elice and Marshall Brickman, composer-lyricist Andrew Lippa and select cast members. Joining the creative team will be Sarah Henry. Henry is the curator of the Charles Addams Exhibit at the Museum of the City of New York.

Out of 230 contestants and 15 finalists - more participants than in any previous year - seven outstanding singer-actors rose to the top to win prizes in the 2010 Lotte Lenya Competition, held on April 17 at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester. Winners were selected by a team of distinguished musical theater experts: Broadway and opera stars Timothy Nolen and Lisa Vroman, and Rob Berman, Broadway and Encores! music director, who served as judges for the competition finals.

Timothy Nolen (Phantom, Cyrano), Lisa Vroman (Phantom, Les Misérables), and Rob Berman (Broadway, regional, and Encores! Music Director) have been named judges for the 2010 Lotte Lenya Competition, an annual international competition that recognizes talented young singer-actors, aged 19-32, who are dramatically and musically convincing in a wide range of repertoire.
