On Saturday, November 26, iconic American composer Philip Glass will be awarded The Eleventh Glenn Gould Prize at an exclusive concert in his honour, presented by The Glenn Gould Foundation and the NAC Orchestra.  The Genius of Philip Glass features the NAC Orchestra led by guest conductor Dennis Russell Davies performing a concert of music spanning the legendary composer's career.

For the second year, the Four Nations Ensemble will make its home at Merkin Concert Hall to present three programs of chamber and vocal music by Bach and his contemporaries, from Handel to Couperin to Vivaldi. The programs, each on Monday evenings, will be held January 30, March 13, and May 8, 2017 at 8:00 PM.

Vancouver Academy of Music (VAM) is thrilled to announce its new ensemble-in-residence, Koerner Piano Trio (KPT), alongside plans for an extraordinary $1-million renovation of the Academy's beloved Koerner Recital Hall- the largest fundraising effort undertaken by VAM in 40 years. Comprised of acclaimed musicians & VAM faculty leadersNicholas Wright (violin), Joseph Elworthy (cello), and Amanda Chan (piano), KPT's first public season will run November 2016 to June 2017. The trio will then continue VAM's tradition of musical excellence at the revitalized Koerner Recital Hall, which begins construction in July 2017 with an anticipated completion date of November that same year.

On Saturday, August 27, Jacob's Pillow Dance announced plans to build a new dance studio on the historic Jacob's Pillow campus. The announcement was made by Director Pamela Tatge at the Pillow's 2016 Festival Finale, with the official ground-breaking ceremony to take place at the Pillow on Friday, October 14 at 5pm.

The Santa Barbara Center for the Performing Arts (SBCPA) has announced America's biggest selling instrumental artist, Chris Botti, will perform at The Granada Theatre on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 8:00 pm, as part of the 2016 - 2017 Granada Theatre Concert Series.

On Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 8:00PM at Alice Tully Hall, the American Classical Orchestra, a 50-piece period instrument orchestra devoted to preserving and performing the repertoire of 17th, 18th and 19th century composers, presents its opening night concert of its 32nd Season. The program, which will be conducted by Thomas Crawford, will include Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 3  'Scottish', Berlioz's Les nuits d'été with mezzo-soprano Avery Amereau, and Cipriani Potter's Symphony No. 10. Artistic Director and Founder Thomas Crawford says of this program, 'In Mendelssohn's stormy Scottish Symphony, period instruments enliven the thrilling orchestration and memorable tunes for which the composer is so beloved. In Berlioz's evocative Les nuits d'été, the ACO proudly introduces the extraordinary young American mezzo-soprano Avery Amereau. A rarely heard symphony by British composer Cipriani Potter completes a concert that takes the audience back into the luxurious sonorities of the Romantic Era.'

Stretching the boundaries of art song, Sparks & Wiry Cries presents a gala fundraiser showcasing GRAMMY Award-winning singer Rhiannon Giddens in an evening of German Lieder, African American art song and selections from Black Broadway. She will be joined by Steinway Artist Spencer Myer on the piano and guest artist and Broadway star Darius de Haas.

It was a soggy night at Blossom, but neither the rain nor the humidity dampened the enthusiasm of the crowd that filled the pavilion and covered much of the lawn for the Saturday, August 13 evening concert of the Silk Road Ensemble.

WALNUT CREEK, CA (August 9, 2016) – The California Symphony and Music Director Donato Cabrera open the Orchestra's 30th season on Sunday, September 18 at 4 pm at the Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek, with an early work by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Kevin Puts, written when he was a Young American Composer-in-Residence there, a performance of Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2, and flutist Annie Wu, an East Bay native and SF Symphony Youth Orchestra alumna, as soloist in Mozart's Flute Concerto in G.

The New York Philharmonic's box office opens today, August 9, 2016, for the 2016-17 season.
