Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival (CCCMF) celebrating its 40th anniversary season as Cape Cod's premiere presenter of summer chamber music, presents Festival favorite and nine-time Grammy Award winning Emerson String Quartet in The Emerson and Barber's Adagio on Wednesday, August 7, 7:30 pm at First Congregational Church, 200 Main Street, Wellfleet.

Following an extensive search spanning more than three years, the Houston Symphony and Music Director Andres Orozco-Estrada announce the appointment of Yoonshin Song as its concertmaster and holder of the Max Levine Chair beginning in the 2019?2020 Season. She succeeds Frank Huang in this position, who left the Houston Symphony at the end of the 2015?2016 Season to take an equivalent position with the New York Philharmonic.

San Diego Symphony Announces Rafael Payare's First Season As Music Director 2019-2020 season celebrates Beethoven at 250 with 12 works across eight months

The Cleveland Orchestra and Music Director Franz Welser-M st announced details of their 2019-2020 season which encompasses 76 concerts over 26 weeks. One significant highlight includes a festival designed to explore music and art that was banned, marginalized, and destroyed during the Nazi's Degenerate Art movement, and the continuing impact of censorship on creative expression in society today. The festival will center on Alban Berg's Lulu, one of the 20th century's most influential operas, and includes partner programming with the area's notable arts institutions.

Joining Mr. Fleisher on stage are notable friends and colleagues, Jonathan Biss and Yefim Bronfman, whom Mr. Fleisher has mentored throughout his illustrious career. The Marie-Josee Kravis Prize for New Music at the New York Philharmonic, which recognizes a composer for extraordinary artistic endeavor in the field of new music, has been awarded to South Korean composer Unsuk Chin. One of the world's largest new-music prizes, the Kravis Prize includes $200,000 and a commission to write a work for the New York Philharmonic. Ms. Chin's new orchestral work will receive its World Premiere by the Philharmonic in a future season. Funding for the Kravis Prize comes from a $10 million gift to the New York Philharmonic in 2009 by Henry R. Kravis in honor of his wife, Marie-Josee, for whom the Prize is named. Past Prize winners include Henri Dutilleux, Per Norgard, and Louis Andriessen.
