Jazz at Lincoln Center announces the 2011 Jazz & Popular Song series, directed by singer and pianist Michael Feinstein and sponsored by HSBC.

This very special evening, hosted by Doris Anne and Tim Sadler, with critically acclaimed Jazz and Blues artist Catherine Russell.

The January 2011 issue of Jazz Inside Magazine (64 pages), available free in print and as a down-loadable digital edition is designed for jazz lovers worldwide - and features guitarist Kevin Eubanks - in an interview conducted by Ken Weiss - discussing his new Mack Avenue recording, Zen Food, the importance of marketing one's music, how jazz artists get in the way of their own success by maintaining the belief that marketing, publicity, dressing up, and other image-bolstering activities are somehow selling out and negative influences in attracting fans to the music.

In 2011, The New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC) celebrates its fifteenth anniversary. To mark the occasion, on Sunday, January 9, the first of many special events will be offered: FringeTALK, a live-streamed town hall event during which anyone from anywhere in the world can ask anything about the festival via Twitter or Facebook and/or our built in chat room.

On Wednesday, December 15th Ailey kicked off a week-long dedication to America's two greatest art forms - Jazz and modern dance. Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis joined Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in live musical performances highlighting the works of legendary composers, Duke Ellington and Dizzy Gillespie. The Company's remarkable artistry brought these spellbinding sounds to life in Alvin Ailey's renowned work, Three Black Kings and the captivating ballet, The Winter In Lisbon by Billy Wilson. The week's performances also included repertory favorites such as Artistic Director Designate, Robert Battle's In/Side and works by Ulysses Dove and Hans van Manen. Raised in St. Louis, and with strong roots in the New Orleans jazz scene, Peter Martin is an accomplished pianist, producer, arranger and composer, and has traveled the world and played with today's finest jazz musicians, from Diane Reeves to Wynton Marsalis. Through the recurring Peter Martin Music: Live series, Martin showcases jazz masters past and present in an intimate and casual setting.
