The Michigan Shakespeare Festival, the official Shakespeare Festival of the State of Michigan, proudly accepted a standing ovation for the opening performance of Richard III on Saturday night. The darkly funny and deeply dramatic production, crowned by a fully underscored epic Battle of Bosworth Field, stars Michigan native David Turrentine in the title role and features performances by Amy Montgomery, Stacy Stoltz, and Alan Ball.

I have had a lot of people asking me what it's like to be a Hub so, I decided to commandeer this computer, which is no easy task because the employees spend most of their time on YouTube and BroadwayWorld…I mean helping guests…but I digress. I guess I should start at the beginning. I used to be a bank, which I can sum up in one word….SUCKTASTIC! I mean if you thought that theater patrons complained you should hear bank customers.

"Our 34th season will be another ambitious one for the Coterie. The Coterie's Lab for New Family Musicals will host an awesome holiday production and work with the composing/writing team behind Shrek the Musical to create the premiere Theatre for Young Audiences version," said Jeff Church, producing artistic director. "There will be several wonderful productions based on books: Christopher Paul Curtis' Bud Not Buddy, Lois Lowry's Number the Stars and a piece based on Scholastic's Dear America Series.

Shakespeare on the Sound, Connecticut's premier outdoor free Shakespeare company, today announced that Steven Yuhasz has joined the organization as its new Executive Director. Yuhasz replaces Emily Bryan, who is now the organization's Director of Education. This is the first Executive Director in the organization's 17 year history.
