Wilma Theater Examines Arab-American Identity & American Foreign Policy, 3/14 & 3/28

In conjunction with the World Premiere production of Yussef El Guindi's Language Rooms, The Wilma Theater will welcome two distinguished panels of artists, scholars, and writers to discuss American foreign policy and Arab-American identity. Good Vibrations and Stress Positions: The Legacy of "Enhanced Interrogation" will occur on Sunday, March 14 at 4:30 pm, and A Land of Sour Milk and Honey: the (Arab-) American Dream Today will take place the following Sunday, March 28 at 4:30 pm. These symposia will present insightful and wide-ranging debates exploring political and personal issues central to Language Rooms and to understanding the effects of American power not only abroad but in our own country.

The Old Globe Theatre's Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced the cast and creative team for the Tony Award-winning comedy, BOEING-BOEING. The classic farce is written by Marc Camoletti and Beverly Cross, and directed by Mark Schneider. Overseen and originally directed by Tony Award winner Matthew Warchus, BOEING-BOEING will run in the Old Globe Theatre March 13 - April 18. Previews run March 13 - March 17. Opening night is Thursday, March 18 at 8:00 p.m.

Brooksher, Carlson & More Star in Kennedy Center's GOLDEN AGE 3/12-4/4

The Kennedy Center today announced the casting for Golden Age, a new play by Terrence McNally. Following its world premiere with the Philadelphia Theatre Company, the production will run March 12 to April 4, 2010 in the Kennedy Center Family Theater as part of Terrence McNally's Nights at the Opera, a five-week event featuring three of the playwright's works performed concurrently on three Kennedy Center stages.

The Used Announce Spring Headlining Tour

Reprise Records artists The Used have announced a spring US headlining tour in support of their new album Artwork. The nationwide string of dates kick off with headlining slots at Extreme Thing in Las Vegas on March 27th and the MusInk festival in Dallas on April 11th and run through May 2nd in Portland, OR. Supporting on this tour will be Chiodos and Minneapolis-based New Medicine, who will release their debut album this summer through Photo Finish Records, with Jaguar Love replacing Chiodos for the final few dates.

Finborough Wins Pearson Award Bursary & Announces New Playwrights-in-Residence

Following the appointment of our former Literary Associate Titas Halder as Resident Assistant Director at the Donmar Warehouse, the Finborough Theatre has appointed a new team to manage its acclaimed Literary Department, working closely with Artistic Director Neil McPherson. The new team are Literary Manager Van Badham, Literary Assistant Daniel Burgess and Senior Reader Laura Jessop. The first fruits of their work will appear in Vibrant 2010 - An Anniversary Festival of Finborough Playwrights , celebrating the 30th year of the Finborough Theatre with 30 new plays by 30 UK and international playwrights, discovered, developed or championed by the Finborough Theatre including world premieres of brand new work from some of the hundreds of playwrights who began their careers with us.
