Lantern Theater Company opens its 2011/12 season with the Philadelphia premiere of David Ives' award-winning New Jerusalem, The Interrogation of Baruch de Spinoza at Talmud Torah Congregation: Amsterdam, July 27, 1656.

In celebration of the Tennessee Williams centennial, Westport Country Playhouse will stage Tennessee Williams' poetic, sensual and evocative drama, 'Suddenly Last Summer,' directed by Playhouse associate artistic director David Kennedy, playing August 23 - September 10.

The Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia today announced 121 nominations in 23 categories for the 2011 Barrymore Awards for Excellence in Theatre. The nominees were selected by an independent committee of 66 voters who each saw 8 of the 147 shows nominated this year. Broadway star, Recording Artist, and Trans-siberian Orchestra member, Rob Evan will bring his show, The Rock Tenor in the Grand Illusion to (le) Poisson Rouge, Monday night, August 22 at 10pm. Special guest performers from Broadway, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and the world of ROCK will also be featured. Globalvision Records producer and long-time Evan collaborator Jeremy Roberts will provide musical direction. The evening will highlight a 6-piece rock band and four vocalists. Proceeds go to benefit BROADWAY CARES/EQUITY FIGHTS AIDS.
