Based on the Academy Award-winning movie of the same name, FINDING NEVERLAND is the Broadway musical that tells the captivating story of how Peter became Pan. The North American Tour is currently flying across the country with six young boys on a rotating schedule covering the four Llewelyn Davies brothers, George, Peter, Jack, and Michael. Four of the boys took time out of their busy schedules to sit down and answer some questions about life as a child on the road!

GOOD MORNING, THEATERATI! It's Wednesday, May 24, 2017! How do we know this, you might ask? Well, we spent last evening at TPAC'S Andrew Jackson Hall, soaking up every possible bit of Carole King: The Beautiful Musical - wait, it's the other way around - Beautiful: The Carole King Musical and despite the earworm known as 'One Fine Day,' we are still floating on the inspiration and memories of opening night.

This week Theater Talk welcomes back two all-time favorite guests, composer/lyricist Marc Shaiman and lyricist Scott Wittman whose new show Charlie and the Chocolate Factory has just opened on Broadway. Along with them was Tony-winning director Jack O'Brien, making his first appearance on our show. The trio whose collaboration on Hairspray won them all Tony Awards and massive acclaim in 2002, have returned to Broadway with this stage adaptation of Roald Dahl's classic 1964 children's book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The musical also includes an infusion of some key songs from the 1971 film of the story, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. In addition to some snappy conversation between them, Shaiman performs several of his compositions for the new show and a delightful time is had by all.

Broadway's sweetest new musical has been brought to the stage by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien and  Grammy and Tony Award winners Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman.  Below, watch as the creative trio of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory stops by The Player's Club to chat about their creative process!

Curvy Widow, a new musical comedy with a book by Bobby Goldman, music and lyrics by Drew Brody (Broadway: Oh Hello; Cutman), and directed by Peter Flynn(Rhapsody in Seth; Two Rooms), will play at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43rd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues), it was announced today by the producers.

The Shubert Foundation and Music Theatre International's 12th Annual Broadway Junior Student Finale was held earlier this week at Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway). The event was hosted byRodney Hicks and Chad Kimball, stars from Broadway's new hit musical, Come From Away.
