Obie Winner Eric Ting Joins Cincinnati Playhouse's Associate Artists Program

Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park Artistic Director Blake Robison announced today that Obie Award-winning director Eric Ting will be added next season to the theatre's Associate Artists program, which was launched by Robison in 2013 for his second season at the Playhouse. Ting will join current associate artists Timothy Douglas, Michael Evan Haney and KJ Sanchez, who have served the Playhouse in that capacity for the past two years.

Martin Short, Katie Finneran & More Set for Williamstown Theatre Festival's 2015 Gala

Williamstown Theatre Festival (Mandy Greenfield, Artistic Director) has announced that the annual WTF Gala will be held at City Winery in New York City (155 Varick Street) on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 6:30 PM. The evening will feature appearances and performances by Tony and Emmy Award-winner Martin Short, two-time Tony Award-winner and Williamstown veteran Katie Finneran, the acclaimed PigPen Theatre Co., up-and-coming singer/songwriter Benjamin Scheuer (The Lion), and New York favorite Rebecca Naomi Jones, with more performers and participants to be announced.

HORSE GIRLS Extends Through 1/23 at the cell

After selling out their initial 3-week run, the cell will extend the New York Premiere of HORSE GIRLS, a black comedy by Jenny Rachel Weiner. Directed by Sarah Krohn, performances have been added January 6 - 23 at the cell where performances began on December 3.

Producer Says Chita Rivera-Led THE VISIT Headed to Broadway This Spring

According to the New York Post, John Kander and Fred Ebb's The Visit, which has been long-rumored for a Broadway run might be on its way to New York in 2015. Michael Riedel writes that book writer Terrence McNally, whose IT'S ONLY A PLAY is currently selling out the Schoenfeld Theatre, might be in the position to acquire funding from the play's producers and a theatre from the Shubert Organization.

Lee Strasberg Theatre Presents THE SCHOOL PLAY, Now thru 12/13

The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute along with The Lee Strasberg Creative Center -- in collaboration with NYU Tisch School of the Arts' Undergraduate Department of Drama -- present THE SCHOOL PLAY, a world-premiere play written by Frank Winters, to be presented as part of the 3rd Annual Clifford Odets Ensemble Play Commission, from today, December 10 to 13 at the Marilyn Monroe Theater (115 E. 15 St.) in New York City. THE SCHOOL PLAY is directed by Danny Sharron. Performances begin December 10th and run through December 13th. A special Closing Night Gala Performance will be held December 13th. Kate Baldwin to Lead Off-Broadway Revival of Andrew Lippa's JOHN & JEN

The Drama Desk and Obie Award-winning Keen Company today announced that Kate Baldwin would star in a rare revival of John & Jen, the musical with music by Andrew Lippa, lyrics by Tom Greenwald, and a book by Greenwald and Lippa. This production will include the premiere of a new song, "Trouble with Men." Additional casting and designers to be announced shortly.
