Mass Live Arts Karaoke Challenge Set for 7/10

As part of the third annual Mass Live Arts Festival, the Artistic Director Ilan Bachrach hereby challenges all art institutions in the Berkshires to face the staff, artists, and distinguished guests of MLA/15 in a Karaoke Death Match. The duel is to be held late night, beginning 10 pm after the main festivities of the MLA Benefit Party, happening from 9:30 pm on Friday, July 10th at the beautiful campus of Bard College at Simon's Rock.

SENSE OF AN ENDING to Make US Premiere at 59E59 Theaters

59E59 Theaters will welcome kef theatrical productions with SENSE OF AN ENDING, written by Ken Urban and directed by Adam Fitzgerald. SENSE OF AN ENDING begins performances on Thursday, August 20 for a limited engagement through Sunday, September 6.

Breaking News: Jessica Hecht and Adam Kantor Join Danny Burstein in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF

Producers Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel, and Jam Theatricals just announced that Tony nominee JESSICA HECHT (A View From the Bridge, “Breaking Bad,” The Last Night of Ballyhoo) and ADAM KANTOR (The Last Five Years, Next to Normal, Rent) will join the cast of Fiddler on the Roof. Hecht will play the role of Golde and Kantor will play the role of Motel. Further casting will be announced soon.

THE GUARDSMAN Begins 7/8 at The Shakespeare Theatre

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey is thrilled to present a world premiere adaptation of Ferenc Molnar's The Guardsman - translated from the original Hungarian by Molnar's great grandson Gabor Lukin and adapted and directed by Artistic Director Bonnie J. Monte. Performances begin Wednesday, July 8th and continue through Sunday, July 26th at the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre, 36 Madison Avenue (at Lancaster Road) in Madison. Ojai Playwrights Conference to Host 2015 New Works Festival, 8/2-9

The Ojai Playwrights Conference (OPC), one of the most acclaimed new play developmental programs in the country, announces its 18th season with an extraordinary program of playwrights, new play workshops and special performance events from August 2 through 9, 2015 in Ojai, California.

Rutina Wesley Leads TWELFTH NIGHT, Opening Tonight at The Old Globe

The Old Globe presents William Shakespeare's delightful and romantic Twelfth Night, directed by Rebecca Taichman, whose production of the time-traveling Time and the Conways fascinated audiences last April, as part of the 2015 Summer Shakespeare Festival. The Old Globe engagement runs through July 26, 2015, with opening night tonight, June 27 at 8:00 p.m., in the Lowell Davies Festival Theatre.

Premiere Stages at Kean University to Present BY THE WATER, 7/16-8/2

Premiere Stages at Kean University will present the New Jersey Premiere of Sharyn Rothstein's Off-Broadway hit By the Water from July 16th through August 2nd in the Zella Fry Theatre. In this moving new play directed by Adam Immerwahr, Hurricane Sandy wields its force upon the home of Marty and Mary Murphy, threatening to destroy not only the life they have built together but the neighborhood they grew up in. Will Marty manage to save his neighborhood and his home, or are the secrets unearthed by the storm too powerful to overcome? Described by The New York Times as 'drawn with acute sympathy and in gritty detail," this gripping and affecting play will feature actors Damian Buzzerio, Mike DiSalvo, Billy Finn, Deanna McGovern, Brian O'Neill, Sheila Stasack and Jo Twiss.

BDF Park City to Present GENERATION: The 2015 Summer Intensive Tour, 6/29-7/3

The Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF) will give aspiring performers in Park City, UT a chance to make their 'big break' when the program presents Generation: The 2015 Summer Intensive Tour. Geffen Playhouse welcomes Ari Brand (Broadway The Neil Simon Plays; Off-Broadway My Name is Asher Lev), Molly Ephraim (ABC's Last Man Standing, Broadway Into the Woods, Fiddler on the Roof; film Paranormal Activity), Lili Fuller (Hulu's Complete Works) and Raviv Ullman (Off-Broadway Sticks and Bones, title character in Disney's Phil of the Future) as the cast for its West Coast premiere production of Bad Jews by Joshua Harmon, directed by Matt Shakman, who is the artistic director of the Black Dahlia Theatre, a Geffen playhouse alumni (Good People, Wait Until Dark) and a noted television director (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Mad Men).
