Adventure Theatre MTC, recent recipient of the TYA/USA Harold Oaks Award for significant contributions to the Theatre for Young Audiences field, and Michael J. Bobbitt, ATMTC's Producing Artistic Director, are proud announce the Off-Broadway transfer of Caps For Sale, the Musical to The New Victory Theatre in February 27-March 6, 2016 following its National Tour. This is the second Off-Broadway transfer for Adventure Theatre MTC following the success of Three Little Birds in 2013.

Adventure Theatre MTC has announced the cast of this summer's OLIVER!, ATMTC's two-act steampunk reimagining of the musical by Lionel Bart.

ELMER GANTRY is a musical version of Sinclair Lewis' best-selling novel, directed by Signature's Artistic DirectorEric Schaeffer (Broadway's Follies, Million Dollar Quartet). Schaeffer collaborated on the last production of Elmer Gantry at Marriott's Lincolnshire Theatre in Chicago with authors John Bishop (book), Mel Marvin (music) and Bob Satuloff (lyrics) in 1998; the show has not been produced since then. Signature Theatre's presentation will be the 5th production in the show's history. Running in the MAX Theatre now through November 9, Signature's production will include several brand new songs by Mel Marvin and Bob Satuloff and a reimagined script that John Bishop worked on until his death in 2006. As a bit of a musical theatre geek, admittedly one of the things I look forward to the most each summer in DC is the Sizzlin' Summer Nights Cabaret series at our very own Tony Award-winning Signature Theatre. These ones were winners!

Virginia's Signature Theatre opens its' air-conditioned doors once again for the annual Sizzlin' Summer Nights Series. For two and a half weeks, Signature's intimate cabaret venue hosts an eclectic mix of Signature favorites, DC-area stars, and some of New York's most exciting performers. The cabaret series runs today, July 9 through July 26, with a different performance each night.

Baltimore composer Adam Gwon is finally given a chance to show his extraordinary talent in Maryland.

Ordinary Days, an acclaimed new musical by Adam Gwon, brings Round House's 2013/2014 season to a harmonious close as it makes its area premiere. Signature Theatre's Matthew Gardiner makes his Round House directing debut with this Off-Broadway hit by one of musical theater's most exciting new composers. Ordinary Days runs at Round House Theatre Bethesda from May 28 thru June 22. Opening night is Monday, June 2, 2014.

Five-time Tony Award-winning lighting designer, Brian MacDevitt, and internationally acclaimed choreographers, Sara Pearson and Patrik Widrig, direct Spring Awakening, the multi-layered rock musical that explores the coming-of-age of a group of teenagers living in a 19th century German village, February 28- March 8 at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center. Based on Frank Wedekind's 1891 controversial play of the same title, Spring Awakening epitomizes the struggle between repressive patriarchy and the purity of nature and delves deep into issues surrounding abuse, pregnancy, sexuality and suicide- all subjects relevant to contemporary life.

The production is definitely high-energy fun for the youngest of theatregoers.

Jason Robert Brown's wonderful musical is given top rate production.
