The Old Globe's 2011 Shakespeare Festival will include Peter Shaffer's AMADEUS as well as Shakespeare's THE TEMPEST and MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING. The festival will take place at the outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre in San Diego. On their first day of rehearsal, April 19, the cast and creative team of the festival created a video to introduce themselves.

La MaMa will present the world-premiere of HAMYUL/HAMLET -- a new adaptation of William Shakespeare's classic play by Korean-American writer/director Byungkoo Ahn-- this summer, with preview performances starting June 23 prior to a press opening June 26 at La MaMa (74A E. 4 St.) in Manhattan. Byungkoo Ahn directs.

Globe Cinema Series Brings Shakespeare to the Big Screen, 6/27

NCM Fathom, Globe Theatre and Arts Alliance Media present Shakespeare's Globe London Cinema Series, an exclusive four-part in-theater series of the most classic of Shakespeare titles in U.S. movie theaters nationwide this summer and fall. Captured in 2010 from the prestigious and internationally renowned Globe Theatre in London- Shakespeare's theatrical London home - the series will kick off in June with The Merry Wives of Windsor followed by Henry IV Part 1, Henry IV Part 2 in August and closing in September with Henry VIII. Each performance will begin at 7:00 p.m. local time and will include a special 20-minute historical perspective on the Globe, the reconstruction process, the work of the Globe today, and a behind-the-scenes look at each production with interviews from the actors and creative team involved.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey will celebrate the 10th Anniversary of its Outdoor Stage - the Theatre's enormously popular annual summer tradition of family theatre "under-the-stars" - with the world's most popular comedy, A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare. Performances begin on June 22th and continue through July 31st.

For its 10th anniversary season, Theatre by the Bay is proud to present William Shakespeare's The Tempest, starring acclaimed stage, film and television actor Robert Joy (six seasons of CBS's 'CSI: New York,' Land of the Dead, Desperately Seeking Susan) as Prospero, with his real life daughter Ruby Joy (CBC-TV's 'Republic of Doyle') playing Prospero's daughter Miranda. This mystical and magical work opens July 2 and runs to July 16 (previews from June 30) at the brand new Downtown Theatre in Barrie, Ontario presented by TD.
