Huntington Theatre Company announces that Malcolm-Jamal Warner, best known for his breakout role as Theo Huxtable, Bill Cosby's son on "The Cosby Show," will play Dr. John Prentice in Guess Who's Coming to Dinner in the Huntington's season opener September 5 - October 5, 2014 at the BU Theatre / Avenue of the Arts. Complete casting will be announced at a later date. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, June 24, 2014.

Huntington Theatre Company, the 2013 recipient of the Regional Theatre Tony Award and Boston magazine's Best Theatre of 2013, announces that a new stage adaptation of the Academy Award-winning film Guess Who's Coming to Dinner will kick off the 2014-2015 Season with performances beginning September 5. The adaptation by August Wilson collaborator Todd Kreidler and directed by David Esbjornson (All My Sons at the Huntington) joins the previously announced six subscription titles plus a special presentation directed by the visionary David Cromer (Our Town).

Because art is a means of communicating human experiences, human bodies are naturally depicted. The figurative form can be used as the ideal medium to convey a spectrum of ideas with which the viewer can resonate. The human figure has always been a common subject of visual art, 'it forces the viewer to engage the artwork and enables the artist to express an entire range of ideas from the subtle to the intense'. In the history of art the human figure bears, in different ways and through different periods in time, a huge significance, being the most direct means by which art can address the human condition. The show will open on the First Friday, April 4th and runs through May 23rd. The show now in its seventh year has become increasingly popular each year, not only in the artwork submitted but in the attendance and reviews for the show. The Human form show seeks to showcase the best artwork, selected not only from the Midwest area but through out the United States and from other countries. Finding artistic and beauty in the human form is only natural and this show will showcase some of the best work doing just that. Artist included in the show are; Mary Chiaramonte, Bob Clyatt, Louis Copt, Christopher Frye, Elena Evanoff, Debra Fritts, Janet McKenzie, Margot Lovinger , Michael Nolan, Vanessa Lacey, Meredith Rose, William Rose, Cheryl Tall, Nate Trotter, Cynthia Siegel, Paul Rybarczyk, Eric Wallis, and Jeff Wack.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces the full company for Guess Who's Coming to Dinner starring Malcolm-Jamal Warner (The Cosby Show, Malcolm and Eddie) in his Washington, D.C. theatrical debut as Dr. John Prentice. Under the direction of David Esbjornson (Broadway's Driving Miss Daisy and Arena's Red Hot Patriot starring Kathleen Turner), this heart-warming comedy features many of the same actors who appeared in the world premiere of the play by True Colors Theatre Company in July 2012. Kenny Leon, who collaborated with playwright Todd Kreidler on the world premiere and was previously announced to direct for Arena Stage, withdrew from the project due to an unforeseen conflict. The play is adapted from William Rose's screenplay for the 1967 film of the same name starring Sidney Poitier, Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy about a young white woman in the 1960s introducing her family to her charming, accomplished and African-American fiance. The multi-award-winning NoHo Arts Center Ensemble (NoHoAce) is thrilled to present a world premiere play, THE LIGHT BULB, written by Joshua Ravetch (One November Yankee) and directed by Noho Arts Center Artistic Director James J. Mellon. THE LIGHT BULB will begin previews on Thursday, September 26 at 8pm; will open on Friday, October 4 at 8pm and run for six weeks through Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the NoHo Arts Center, 11136 Magnolia Blvd. (at Lankershim) in North Hollywood.
