In the wake of the tragic loss of Actor Bernie Yvon, 50, in a car accident on his way to rehearsal of WOMEN ON THE VERGE, Theatre at the Center, 1040 Ridge Road, Munster, IN the theater has moved its press opening to Sunday, Sept. 21 at 2:30pm. Previews begin Saturday, Sept. 13, with George Andrew Wolff assuming the role of the taxi driver that Mr. Yvon had been scheduled to play. After the opening, a small tribute reception will take place at the theater for attendees of the performance.

The Chicago theatre community suffered a shocking loss as two well-known local actors suddenly passed away this weekend. According to the Chicago Tribune, Molly Glynn, age 46, was killed by a falling tree as she was riding her bike on September 5. Bernie Yvon, age 50, died in a car crash on his way to rehearsal on Saturday morning for Theatre at the Center's production of Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown in Munster, Indiana.

The season opens with ON GOLDEN POND, the touching, funny, and warmly insightful story that went from a Tony Award on Broadway to the Oscar winning film, running February 26 through March 29. Overflowing with heart and humor, the extraordinary new Broadway musical, BIG FISH, will inspire audiences to live life to the fullest May 7 to June 7. Fans of "the King" of Rock n' Roll will be thrilled to join in song and dance at ALL SHOOK UP! THE MUSIC OF ELVIS PRESLEY. Inspired by the movies and songs of Elvis Presley as well as the William Shakespeare comedy Twelfth Night, the musical runs July 16 through August 16. SPAMALOT, the uproariously hilarious Monty Python-inspired farce about King Arthur and his band of raunchy knights runs September 17 through October 18. Returning to Theatre at the Center during the holiday season is the nostalgic family favorite A CHRISTMAS STORY, running November 19 to December 27.

Theatre at the Center, 1040 Ridge Road, Munster, Indiana, ignites their 2014 season of Premieres with RING OF FIRE- THE MUSIC OF JOHNNY CASH. The production opened last night, Sunday, February 23. More than 35 of Cash's hit songs including 'I Walk the Line', 'A Boy Named Sue,' 'Folsom Prison Blues' and the title tune, paint a musical portrait of The Man in Black that promises to be a foot-stompin', crowd-pleasin' salute to the uniquely American Legend. Leading the cast as 'Johnny Cash' will be Kent Lewis with Jeff Award-winner Cory Goodrich starring as 'June Carter' and Michael Goodman as 'Young Johnny'. Four talented multi-instrumentalist/performers round out the cast - Greg Hirte, Malcolm Ruhl, Billy Shaffer, and William Underwood.
