The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced today that WGN America's critically acclaimed drama “Manhattan,” created by Sam Shaw and directed by Emmy Award-winning director Thomas Schlamme, has been honored with a 67th Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Main Title Design.

WGN America announced today that William Petersen ('CSI: Crime Scene Investigation') has joined the cast of its critically acclaimed drama 'Manhattan,' marking his return to television after his celebrated Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated 10-year run as Dr. Gilbert 'Gil' Grissom in the hit series 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.' Produced by Lionsgate Television, Skydance Television and Tribune Studios, 'Manhattan' will begin production on its second season in New Mexico in April for a 2015 debut on WGN America.

Breaking new ground with award-winning scripted dramas for the digital age, WIGS announced today that Season Three of BLUE, starring Julia Stiles ('The Bourne Ultimatum') as the title character, will be available in four longer-form episodes, each of which runs between 40-60 minutes, on Hulu (www.hulu.com/blue) and the Hulu Plus subscription service, beginning Friday morning today, March 28. Also available on Hulu and Hulu Plus that day will be a new longer-form episode of WIGS series PALOMA, written and directed by Stiles and starring Grace Gummer ('Margin Call').

By popular demand, Steppenwolf Theatre Company has extended the hit summer production of Slowgirl by Greg Pierce, directed by ensemble member Randall Arney, and featuring ensemble member William Petersen with Rae Gray. Slowgirl continues for six additional performances, through September 1. This summer, Steppenwolf ensemble member-and former artistic director--Randall Arney returns to Chicago to stage Greg Pierce's hit play, Slowgirl, which premiered at Lincoln Center Theater in 2012. Arney reunites with fellow ensemble member William Petersen in the role of Sterling (the two first appeared on stage together in Steppenwolf's 1980 production of Balm in Gilead); the two-hander also includes Rae Gray (The Book Thief) as Becky. A playwright with 'impressive writing chops' who 'builds suspense, releases tension through laughs and grabs your attention with life-or-death stakes' (NY1), Pierce's plays later travels to Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles, where Arney currently serves as artistic director, as part of the 2013/14 season.

A pioneer in 20th century drama, Ruth Draper was described as, "the greatest individual performer that America has ever given."

The Geffen Playhouse announces nine plays for the 2013/2014 season: three world premieres/adaptations, three West Coast premieres and two productions of familiar works from Pulitzer or Nobel Prize winning playwrights. The remaining title will be announced shortly. Furthering its mission to introduce audiences to new plays, re-imagined classics and emerging voices, the Geffen's schedule - encouraged by continued growth in ticket sales - is the largest in the 19 year history of the organization.
