Penobscot Theatre Company is set to kick-off its 42nd season with Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash, created by Richard Malby, Jr. and conceived by William Meade. The show will feature 38 hits from the legendary Man in Black, brought to new life by five musician/actors playing multiple instruments. It will run tonight, September 10, through September 27 at the historic Bangor Opera House.

To kick off its 2015-16 Professional Series, TexARTS celebrates an American music icon with the regional premier of RING OF FIRE: THE JOHNNY CASH MUSICAL SHOW. Starring local music heavyweight and multi-instrumentalist Walt Roberts, RING OF FIRE runs July 17-26 at the Kam and James Morris Theatre.

Germantown Community Theatre has announced the slate of productions for their 2015-2016 season. The season blends music, theatre for youth, classic literature and raucous fun. Titles include Neil Simon's RUMORS, the movie-turned-musical DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS and Tennessee Williams' A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE. The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis has produced something truly special with their current presentation of RING OF FIRE - THE MUSIC OF JOHNNY CASH. This is a biographical musical with broad appeal to people of all ages. Created by Richard Maltby, Jr. and conceived by William Meade, the show chronicles the life and times of Johnny Cash from his humble upbringing to his final breath, and it captures it all with over 30 memorable tunes that showcase his wonderful catalog of material, while touching on key events that shaped the "Man in Black", and his beliefs. Ring of Fire is an incendiary delight that will have audiences singing and clapping along to the beat of a man who overcame his personal demons to become a very fondly remembered icon in the world of music. I cannot recommend this show highly enough. You'll simply have to see it for yourself! I personally guarantee that you will be absolutely floored by what you witness. Cortland Repertory Theatre closes their 43rd annual summer season of quality live theatre with the foot-stoppin', hand-clappin' musical revue "Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash", which was created by Richard Maltby Jr., and conceived by William Meade. Performances will run for three weeks, from August 27 - September 13 with evening performances at 7:30. Matinees are available on August 29 and 31, and September 3, 7 and 10 at 2:00 PM. Tickets may be purchased by calling 800-427-6160 or at the CRT Box Office at 24 Port Watson Street in Cortland. Tickets are also available for sale 24 hours a day through the CRT website at www.cortlandrep.org.
