BoHo Theatre presents Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Book, and Best Score, and eight Drama Desk Awards. Big River runs September 10 through October 10 at the new Theater Wit at 1229 W Belmont Avenue.

BET Networks, a unit of Viacom ( VIA, VIA.B), today announced that entertainment superstar Queen Latifah has been tapped to host the tenth anniversary of the mega-hit, #1 rated awards show among African American viewers, the BET AWARDS. This much-anticipated special will broadcast LIVE from the historic Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at 8:00 P.M.* on BET and via live stream on BET.com.

After 37 years, Jack Kleinsinger has decided to end his 'Highlights in Jazz' concert series. May 13, 2010 (the 300th concert of the series) will be the last 'Highlights' show. Kleinsinger notes that his decision was not an artistic one, but a financial one: 'If someone can come up with the financing necessary to produce the annual series I'll continue,' he said. 'But with cuts in arts funding and private sponsorships for jazz down it's not likely I'll continue.'
