Premiere Stages, currently celebrating its 10th anniversary as the professional Equity theatre in residence at Kean University, will welcome Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage to Kean's campus on Sunday, November 16 as part of Premiere Artists, its acclaimed professional development program for Kean University students.

Manhattan Theatre Club's New York premiere co-production of The Country House, the new play by Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies, directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan, opened on October 2 at MTC's Samuel J. Sierra Repertory Theatre presents a group of six young spellers and special audience participants in the musical comedy, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, held at the East Sonora stage today, October 24 - November 23.

Round House Theatre continues its 2014/15 season with a magical, fresh new take on a beloved classic - The Nutcracker, a new holiday musical created by Tommy Rapley, Jake Minton, Phillip Klapperich, and Kevin O'Donnell. Previews begin tomorrow, Friday, October 17 at 7:30 PM for the Playwrights Horizons' world premiere production of GRAND CONCOURSE, a new play by playwright and two-time Obie Award-winning actress Heidi Schreck (author of There Are No More Big Secrets, Creature, Showtime's 'Nurse Jackie'). Directed by Kip Fagan (The Revisionist, Asuncion), the play is the second production of the acclaimed theater company's 2014/2015 Season. It follows the critically-acclaimed Bootycandy, a new play written and directed by Robert O'Hara, which concludes its extended run this Sunday evening on the Mainstage.

Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, announces Northlight's 40th Anniversary Party featuring a performance by Tony Award winner, composer and lyricist Jason Robert Brown. MCC THEATER has announced that this year's Miscast gala, an annual highlight of the New York theater season, will honor two bold and fearless women: Emmy & Golden Globe nominated stage and screen actress Sarah Paulson and Tony Award-winning producer Fran Weissler. Miscast 2015 will be held Monday, March 30, 2015 at The Hammerstein Ballroom (311 West 34th Street).

New theater company Yutopian Entertainment is set to open The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee tonight, Oct 3rd at the Grove Theater Center in Burbank.

Following sold-out runs at Stage 72 (158 West 72nd Street), The Bijou Theatre, and Barrington Stage Company (Tony-Award winning William Finn's Cabaret Series) the incredibly talented and inspirational Amy Oestreicher will bring her hit one-woman musical Gutless & Grateful back to NYC as part of the United Solo Festival with a sold-out performance on October 11th at 4pm, and an additional performance on Thursday November 13th at 9pm. In this moving and entertaining evening of song, performer Amy Oestreicher weaves her near death experience and unique personal story with an eclectic set of songs, highlighting the disappointments, struggles, triumphs and humor in her life.

Playwrights Horizons announced the appointment of Liz Fallon Culp as the institution's new Director of Development. Ms. Culp joins the acclaimed theater company direct from New York Public Radio (WNYC/WQXR), where she served as the Senior Director of Major Gifts and Legacy Giving. She began with the theater company this month, leading its seven-person Development department.

Barrington Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Managing Director Tristan Wilson, welcomes the return of Drama Desk Award-winner Jim Brochu in his new show Character Man, following his wildly successful run of Zero Hour in 2011. A musical valentine celebrating the Golden Age of the American Musical, Character Man will be presented at BSC's St. Germain Stage at the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center from tonight, September 18 through 28. The press opening is Saturday, September 20 at 7:30pm.
