Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston will open its 47th consecutive summer season with the Broadway favorite, Guys and Dolls, from June 11-21, 2015 at the Robinson Theatre (617 Lexington St. Waltham, MA, 02452). Set in Damon Runyon's jubilant, shimmering New York City, this Tony Award-winning musical about gangsters, showgirls, and mission workers stars Olivier Award nominee Brent Barrett as Sky Masterson (Broadway's Chicago, PBS's Kiss Me, Kate) and opera singer Mara Bonde as Sarah Brown (The Boston Pops). Broadway veteran David Hugo (LES MISERABLES) returns to direct Frank Loesser's romantic comedy that demonstrates the great lengths to which a guy will go when he truly falls in love with a 'doll.' Ocean State Theatre Company's Producing Artistic Director, Amiee Turner, who made her Ocean State Theatre debut as the lone female writer, Carol Wyman, in last season's production of the Neil Simon comedy, Laughter on the 23rd Floor and audience favorite Christopher Swan, who received rave reviews for his portrayal as the King in OSTC's Inaugural production of The King and I, will be starring opposite one another as Rose and Herbie in OSTC's upcoming summer production of the Tony Award-winning classic American musical, Gypsy.
The Chicago Human Rhythm Project (CHRP), celebrating a quarter century of creating community through American tap and contemporary percussive arts through innovative performance, education and outreach programs, welcomes 10-time Tony Award winner Tommy Tune at its 25th Anniversary Jubalee Gala. The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust announces a one night only performance of Broadway Showstoppers featuring award-winning performing artists Mandy Gonzalez, Cady Huffman, Telly Leung and Alton Fitzgerald White will take place on Monday, May 4, 2015, at 7:30 p.m., Cabaret at Theater Square, 655 Penn Avenue, in Pittsburgh's Cultural District.
