ABC's 'Bet On Your Baby' will reveal the answer to that question each week in an hour-long program featuring five memorable families with toddlers between the ages of two to three-and-a-half years old, who will play to see how well they can guess their child's next move in the hopes of earning money towards their college fund. Florida Studio Theatre opens Jericho by Jack Canfora, a National New Play Network (NNPN) Rolling World Premiere, tonight, Friday, April 6, 2012, in the Keating Theatre (1241 N. Palm Avenue). Part of the Sarasota Festival of New Plays, Jericho makes its final stop of it's "rolling" world premiere, after opening at Phoenix Theatre in Indianapolis and New Jersey Repertory Company early this season. Lynn Nottage attended one of the final Asolo Rep performances of her play, Las Meninas, in Sarasota on the evening of May 12, 2011. Her visit included a gathering on stage with the director and cast after their standing ovation performance.
The Magik Theatre will start off the summer with a return engagement of the hit musical Pinkalicious, playing from May 13th - June 25th. The show is based on a book by Elizabeth and Victoria Kann, and it features music and lyrics by John Gregory. Asolo Repertory Theatre is thrilled to introduce Florida audiences to Las Meninas, by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage. The play is directed by Asolo Rep Producing Artistic Director Michael Donald Edwards, who directed the World Premiere of Las Meninas at San Jose Rep in 2002. The Asolo Rep production of Las Meninas runs from March 18-May 15, 2011 in Asolo Rep's Mertz Theatre; then will travel to Miami to perform as part of the South Miami Dade Cultural Arts Center (SMDCAC) soft opening. The SMDCAC performance is hoped to foster a further artistic exchange between the two cities and the two organizations, and lead to more projects.
