The Flea Theater in association with Four Arts Media presents AMERICAN SONG, Episode 4, Swing Blue - a comedy set in the 1930s starring David Hyde Pierce - tonight, December 17 at 7pm. This episode will take place at Jerome L. Greene Performance Space.

It will be directed by Ed Sylvanus Iskandar, a 2012 Drama Desk Award nominee for These Seven Sicknesses, and stars The Bats, the resident Acting Company at The Flea. The Flea Theater announced today that Obie and Drama Desk Award winner Deirdre O'Connell has joined the cast of World Premiere of THE VANDAL by Hamish Linklater (TV's The New Adventures of Old Christine). An absurdist black comedy about the demise of the Duncan family, and, by extension, the species, PTERODACTYLS will feature Emmy Award-winner Penny Fuller (THE DINNER PARTY, APPLAUSE) as Duncan family matriarch, Grace; Tony-nominee Bobby Steggert (RAGTIME) as son, Todd; Virginia Kull (THE HEIRESS) as daughter, Emma; and Claybourne Elder (BONNIE & CLYDE) as Emma's fiance Tommy (the role of family patriarch, Arthur, is TBD).

Superwolf will present the New York Premiere of Bekah Brunstetter's TAKE HER TO SEE THE MACO LIGHTS, directed by Sherri Kronfeld and produced by Jamie Effros. Performances begin tonight, November 14 at The Invisible Dog Art Center.

After a successful run at The Flea, the theater has announced the extension of the U.S. Premiere of I HATE F*CKING MEXICANS by Luis Enrique Gutierrez Ortiz Monasterio "the enfant terrible of contemporary Mexican theater." Translated by Debbie Saivetz, Ana Graham, and Danya Taymor and directed by Ms. Taymor, a Flea Resident Director; the production features members of The Bats and The Riot Group's Adriano Shapman. Previews began October 9, with opening night on October 18. The show is now extended with limited performances through December 11.

FULLY COMMITTED is the first in a series of special celebrations during the Vineyard's 30th Anniversary Season, and the reading will benefit The Vineyard's productions and programs in 2012-2013.

Artistic Director Les Waters and Managing Director Jennifer Bielstein have announced the lineup of plays, playwrights and directors for the 37th annual Humana Festival of New American Plays at Actors Theatre of Louisville, running February 27-April 7, 2013. The Festival, underwritten for the 33rd consecutive year by the Louisville-based Humana Foundation, will feature fully-produced world premieres by Jeff Augustin, Mallery Avidon, Will Eno, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins and Sam Marks; a suite of three one-act plays by Rinne Groff, Lucas Hnath and Anne Washburn commissioned by Actors Theatre and performed by the Acting Apprentice Company; and an evening of ten-minute plays featuring a new play by Sarah Ruhl, among others yet to be announced.
