The New Colony will launch its 2016 Season with the world premiere of the racially charged family drama BYHALIA, MISSISSIPPI, by Co-Artistic Director Evan Linder, directed by Tyrone Phillips and co-produced with Definition Theatre Company.

Award-winning comedian David Cross today announced he will return to the road in 2016 with a stand-up comedy tour playing theatres across the country.  Named one of the Top 100 Stand-Up Comedians of All Time by Comedy Central, Cross will launch his "Making America Great Again!" tour on Tuesday, January 26 at Observatory North Park in San Diego, California, and continue nationwide thru April 2016.  The tour hits Denver's Paramount Theatre on Tuesday, March 8th at 8 PM and Boulder Theater on Wednesday, March 9th at 8 PM. The Lexington Theatre Company is in final preparations for its second 'Concert With The Stars,' January 16, 2016, at 8:00pm at The Lexington Opera House. This year's line-up of stars includes Jenni Barber (Wicked, Annie, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Stephen R. Buntrock (A Little Night Music, Oklahoma, Beauty & The Beast), Erin Dilly (A Christmas Story, Nice Work If You Can Get It, Tony nominee for Chittty Chitty Bang Bang) and Kyle Dean Massey (Pippin, Next to Normal, Wicked, ABC's 'Nashville'), alongside collegiate and local talent - illustrating the mission of this new professional theatre company in Lexington, Kentucky. Avi Hoffman, whose recent performance as Willy Loman in Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman for the New Yiddish Rep at Off Broadway's Castillo Theatre won consistently rave reviews, will direct Unlikely Heroes, a new play by first time playwright Dr. Charles Gluck.  Hoffman, who will also act in the production, will be joined on stage by a veritable 'Who's Who' of South Florida Theatre - the cast of Unlikely Heroes includes Patti Gardner, Robert Johnston, Margot Moreland, Kim Ostrenko, and Michael H. Small.  The production will run from January 28th - February 21st at the Mizner Park Cultural Arts Center in Boca Raton.

According to the West End Frame, current HAIRSPRAY UK tour producer Mark Goucher, has revealed that he wants the musical to transfer to the West End next year.

Back by popular demand, ON KENTUCKY AVENUE: A Celebration of Atlantic City's Historic Club Harlem returns to City College's performing arts center Aaron Davis Hall on Friday, February 19, for a three-day encore engagement. The show, which shines a red-hot spotlight on a little-known piece of Black history, is presented by the City College Center for the Arts (CCCA) and Byron and Sylvia Lewis. The dust has only recently settled on the last production of Hairspray at the Curve in Leicester but now this production is on the road across the UK. Based on the packed house at the New Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham last night, it's proven itself to be a show that people will return to. It's just upsetting that this time around the show did not live up to my expectations.

Westport Country Playhouse's Family Festivities Series will present 'Fancy Nancy Splendiferous Christmas,' on Sunday, December 20, for three performances: 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 4 p.m. The musical is based on the best-selling book series by author and illustrator team Jane O'Connor and Robin Preiss Glasser.
