The final casting decision was made by Whoopi Goldberg and West End Director Carline Brauwer. 'Both girls were incredible.' Zodwa was thrilled with the outcome: 'I was so nervous before the audition. But Whoopi in her kind way really managed to calm me down. Now I'm thrilled to death!'

Whoopi Goldberg, Bill Clinton, and Elizabeth Hurley will attend this year's Life Ball in Vienna as guests of honor, Yahoo! News reports. The ball, which will benefit AIDS research, will be held on July 17 at Vienna's City Hall. Approximately 40,000 people are expected to attend.
Confirming multiple previous reports, producers Whoopi Goldberg and Stage Entertainment UK announced today that SISTER ACT - A Divine Musical Comedy will take a vow of hilarity when it arrives on Broadway in Spring 2011 at a theatre to be announced. SISTER ACT features an original score with music by multi-Academy, Grammy and Golden Globe Award-winning and celebrated composer Alan Menken (Little Shop of Horrors, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid and Enchanted) and lyrics by Tony Award-nominee Glenn Slater (The Little Mermaid), has a book by multi-Emmy Award winners Cheri and Bill Steinkellner ('Cheers'), choreography by Tony and Olivier Award nominee Anthony Van Laast (Mamma Mia, Bombay Dreams) and is directed by four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks (Guys and Dolls, A Funny Thing...Forum, Smokey Joe's Café). Casting will also be announced at a later date.

Whatsonstage.com is suggesting that Whoopi Goldberg may be joining the final weeks of SISTER ACT in the West End as a means of boosting the show's finale before it takes its final bow on October 30, 2010. Goldberg, who starred as 'Doloris van Cartier' in the 1992 film and who is co-producing the West End production, would be assuming the role of 'Mother Superior' onstage (made famous by Maggie Smith in the film version). SISTER ACT will vacate the Palladium in October for THE WIZARD OF OZ and is headed to Broadway in the Spring of 2011, as BroadwayWorld previously reported. Producers are reportedly hoping to re-open the production in the West End at a new theater sometime next season.
