In a new interview with Variety, actor Ben Platt discusses his upcoming departure from the hit Broadway show DEAR EVAN HANSEN.

Ben Platt who just last month won the 2017 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical for Dear Evan Hansen tweeted over the July 4th holiday in response to a few fan complaints about him not appearing at the stage door post show.

Earlier this week, BroadwayWorld reported that Tony-nominee Ben Platt had been put on vocal rest as the hectic awards season wound down. The DEAR EVAN HANSEN star tweeted that he was going to take a few performances off in order to be in tip-top shape for the Tony Awards performance.

DEAR EVAN HANSEN star and Tony nominee Ben Platt turned to social media today to announce that he will be taking a short break from the hit Broadway show in order to rest his voice for his upcoming appearance on the TONY AWARDS Sunday night.
