Rubicon Theatre Presents The Mystery of Irma Vep, Previews 10/12

When the night is dark and stormy, or the mist is rising on the moors under a full moon; when there are macabre stirrings in the tomb, or the unearthly howling of laughter from audience members - it must be the season for THE MYSTERY OF IRMA VEP, Charles Ludlam's ribald sendup of gothic romance and horror that begins preview next Wednesday, October 12, opens October 15, and continues through November 6 at RUBICON THEATRE COMPANY.

MY MOTHER'S ITALIAN, MY FATHER'S JEWISH... Starts Performances 10/12

Steve Solomon's international hit comedy My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish & I'm in Therapy! starts performances next week starring Tony Award-winning stage and television star Paul Kreppel. The hilarious show has a 12-week run at the Bathurst St. Theatre from October 12, 2011-January 1, 2012. (The media performance is Wednesday, October 19 at 7pm.). Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster or www.italianjewish.ca.

Paul Kreppel Joins MY MOTHER'S ITALIAN, MY FATHER'S JEWISH... in Toronto

Tony Award-winning stage and television star Paul Kreppel will make his Toronto debut in the international hit comedy My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish & I'm in Therapy! at the Bathurst St. Theatre, October 12, 2011-January 1, 2012, the show's producers announced today.

LOVE, LOSS, AND WHAT I WORE cast members featuring Nora Dunn, Felicia Fields, Roni Geva, Katie O'Brien and Barbara Robertson perform at Petterino's (150 N. Dearborn St., Chicago), the downtown theater district go-to restaurant, for 'Monday Night Live' on Monday, Oct. 10 beginning at 7:30 p.m., in addition to the singers who regularly showcase their talent during the cabaret-style 'open mic' showcase.

Loretta Swit, Cindy Gold & More Join LOVE, LOSS, AND WHAT I WORE Cast

Daryl Roth, producer of LOVE, LOSS, AND WHAT I WORE, has announced that Chicago's own Cindy Gold and Whitney White will join the cast of the Chicago production beginning Oct. 25, 2011. Also starring in the Chicago engagement are Taylor Miller (All My Children), beginning Oct. 25, Loretta Swit (MASH), beginning Nov. 8 and original Chicago cast member Roni Geva.

Dylan's Candy Bar Honors VOCA PEOPLE With 'Voca Vanilla' Ice Cream

The new hit musical comedy, VOCA PEOPLE, currently playing to standing ovations at Westside Theatre, will be honored by Dylan's Candy Bar (1011 Third Avenue at 60th Street) with a new Voca Ice Cream Flavor. 'Voca Vanilla' is Dylan's classic Vanilla Ice Cream which will be renamed and makes its debut Friday, October 7th at 2pm at Dylan's. 'Voca Vanilla' will be unveiled with a performance in the cafe by the white-faced, red-lipped VOCA PEOPLE. This is the first time Dylan's Candy Bar has renamed an ice cream flavor.

Dee Hoty, Samantha Mathis, et al. Join Cast of LOVE, LOSS, AND WHAT I WORE This October

Producer Daryl Roth announced today that three-time Tony Award nominee Dee Hoty (Footloose; Mamma Mia) and TV and stage regulars Samantha Mathis (American Psycho; 33 Variations) and Concetta Tomei ('Providence'; Lincoln Center's Clean House), will join the next cast of the hit Off Broadway show Love, Loss, and What I Wore. Current cast member Zuzanna Szadkowski ('Gossip Girl') will stay on, also joining previously announced actress and TV personality La La Anthony ('La La's Full Court Life') in a run that begins Wednesday, October 5 through November 6, 2011 at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43 Street).

John Lithgow, Larry Kramer, Campbell Brown et al. Join Dustin Lance Black's '8' Reading on Broadway, 9/19

Academy, Tony and four-time Emmy Award nominee Bob Balaban; acclaimed 'White Collar' television star Matt Bomer; Emmy Award-winning journalist Campbell Brown; celebrated playwright and gay rights activist Larry Kramer; two-time Academy Award-nominated, multiple Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning, two-time Tony Award-winning actor John Lithgow; Tony Award nominee and Broadway Impact Co-Founder Rory O'Malley; and Emmy Award winner and three-time Golden Globe Award nominee Bradley Whitford will appear in the world premiere of '8' on Broadway, joining the previously announced Anthony Edwards, Morgan Freeman, Cheyenne Jackson, Christine Lahti, Rob Reiner, Yeardley Smith and Marisa Tomei. The production is an unprecedented account of the Federal District Court trial in Perry v. Schwarzenegger (now Perry v. Brown), the case filed by AFER to overturn Proposition 8, which eliminated the right to marry for gay and lesbian couples in California.

Marriott's FOR THE BOYS Recognizes the Armed Forces on 9/11

The Marriott Theatre, 10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire, will recognize Patriot Day by offering current and retired military personnel a complimentary ticket when they present their military identification to the 5 p.m. performance of FOR THE BOYS on Sunday, September 11th.
