Full Casting Announced For 'Moonlight' and 'Love' @ Tricycle

Sean Holmes' production of Ron Hutchinson's Moonlight & Magnolias returns to the Tricycle Theatre for a strictly limited four week run from 2 July - 2 August with original cast members Andy Nyman (Selznick) and Steven Pacey (Fleming) who are joined by new cast members Nicholas Woodeson (Hecht) and Rebecca Calder (Miss Poppenghul).

West End '39 Steps' Extends till Feb. 7th

Patrick Barlow's Olivier award-winning adaptation of The 39 Steps will extend its current booking at the Criterion Theatre in the West End until 7 February 2009.

Almeida Theater Company Announces Summer Programs

For its annual summer festival of contemporary opera, music and theatre, the Almeida Theatre will present a programme which includes the London premiere of An Ocean of Rain, a specially commissioned opera by Yannis Kyriakides and Daniel Danis, the European premiere of Adam Rapp's Nocturne and British African Theatre Company Tiata Fahodzi's first week long residency at the Almeida.

Jo Stone-Fewings Will Take Over In '39 Steps'

Jo Stone-Fewings will take over the role of Richard Hannay from Monday 28 April in Maria Aitken's Olivier award-winning hit production of The 39 Steps at the Criterion Theatre. Stone-Fewings most recently played the role of Sparkish to great acclaim in The Country Wife - the first production in Jonathan Kent's Theatre Royal Haymarket Season. He will join a cast comprising Josefina Gabrielle, Martyn Ellis and long standing cast member Simon Gregor. The 39 Steps, currently playing on Broadway at the Roundabout Theatre Company's American Airlines Theatre, will transfer to the Cort Theater from April 29 for an extended run. As well as productions on tour in the UK, in Israel, Italy and South Africa, the Melbourne Theatre Company production opens in Australia in April, with a production in Korea scheduled to open in September. In addition a further fifteen countries are scheduled to present the play over the next twelve months. To date the London production of The 39 Steps has grossed over £5 million. Best known as Hitchcock's 1935 classic movie thriller, The 39 Steps is directed by Maria Aitken, has designs by Peter McKintosh, lighting design is by Ian Scott, sound design by Mic Pool, and movement by Olivier Award winning Toby Sedgwick. The 39 Steps is presented by Edward Snape for Fiery Angel Ltd and Tricycle London Productions Ltd in association with the West Yorkshire Playhouse. Patrick Barlow's critically acclaimed adaptation has been playing for over eighteen months to sell-out houses at the Criterion Theatre since its transfer (from the Tricycle Theatre) winning a Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Comedy and Best New Comedy at the 2007 Whatsonstage.com awards. Maria Aitken's production is performed by four actors playing a minimum of 139 roles and contains every single legendary scene from the award-winning movie - including the chase on the Flying Scotsman, the escape on the Forth Bridge, the first theatrical bi-plane crash ever staged and the sensational death-defying finale in the London Palladium, besides many other favourite cinematic moments, including the memorable and controversial 'stockings and suspenders' scene! Jo Stone-Fewings' extensive theatre credits include Nikolai Rostov in War and Peace, Barrildo in Fuente Ovejuna and Alex in Ghetto all for the National Theatre, Lucentio in The Taming of the Shrew, Orsino in Twelfth Night, Richmond/Gray in Richard III and Clarence in the tour of Henry VI, Part III all for the Royal Shakespeare Company, Edgar in King Lear and Dinnesdale in The Scarlett Letter for the Chichester Festival Theatre and Clive in the West End transfer of See How They Run. His television credits include Talk To Me, Doctor Who, All the Kings Men, Waiting for God all for the BBC as well as Mine all Mine, Young Arthur and Peak Practice. On film his work includes American Friends, Wondrous Oblivion and Nine Lives. A Spellbinding "Martin Guerre" at the Watermill

From the second that the new Watermill theatre production of 'Martin Guerre' begins through to its final chilling note, the audience is totally captivated in the atmosphere of a spine-tingling dramatic and musical world that represents all that is best in musical theatre. Bad Girls Get Banged Up at The Garrick!

Following a triumphant run at the West Yorkshire Playhouse last summer, the inmates of HMP Larkhall are now being sent down to London's Garrick Theatre for the West End premiere of Bad Girls - The Musical.

Smash Hit The 39 Steps Extends

Patrick Barlow's comic adaptation of John Buchan's classic The 39 Steps is to extend booking for a third time, until 9 February 2008, into its second year in the West End.

THE ADDAMS FAMILY Headed for Bway; by Lippa, Elice & Brickman

Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, writers of the 2006 Tony Award-winning Best Musical, Jersey Boys, are the librettists for THE ADDAMS FAMILY, Drama Desk Award-winning composer/lyricist Andrew Lippa (The Wild Party) is writing the score, and Improbable Theater founders Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch (Shockheaded Peter) will direct and design. EET plans to premiere THE ADDAMS FAMILY in the 2009-2010 Broadway season, preceded by an out-of-town tryout.

Jersey Boys Extends in L.A.; Casting Announced

Due to a high demand for tickets, the Ahmanson Theatre engagement of Jersey Boys, the 2006 Tony Award-winner for Best Musical, has been extended three weeks through Sunday, August 26

Look, it's Martin Guerre at the Watermill

This summer the Watermill Theatre in Newbury will revisit the Boublil/Schonberg musical, 'Martin Guerre', which will play from July 11 to September 1. The show will be directed by Craig Revel-Horwood, who was at the helm of last summer's critically acclaimed staging of 'The Hot Mikado' in Newbury. Musical direction will be handled by Tony award winner, Sarah Travis, who - along with former Watermill guru, John Doyle - pioneered the actor/singer/musician style of musical theatre at the Watermill, notably with the production of Sondheim's 'Sweeney Todd', which eventually found its way to Broadway in 2005.
