The Film Society of Lincoln Center announces the lineup for the fifth edition of free talk series NYFF Live during the 54th New York Film Festival (September 30 – October 16). HBO® is the presenting sponsor of NYFF Live, which features actors, directors, writers, critics, and other industry insiders participating in daily evening discussions from October 1 – 14 in the Amphitheater at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center.

This fall, contemporary opera producer AMERICAN OPERA PROJECTS (AOP) will present COMPOSERS & THE VOICE: SIX SCENES 2016, a concert of opera scenes from ten artists emerging in the world of contemporary opera. Audiences will get a first look at six wildly different new works that range from imagining moments in the lives of famous people such as Sigmund Freud and Mabel Dodge Luhan or events taking place in a spaceship, an asylum, and a uterus. The composers Matthew Barnson, Carlos R. Carrillo, Nell Shaw Cohen, Marc LeMay, Cecilia Livingston, and Sky Macklay and librettists Edward Einhorn, Duncan McFarlane, Emily Roller, and Mark Sonnenblick, were chosen by AOP to spend a year creating new works in its bi-annual fellowship program Composers & the Voice (C&V).

The Chicago Dancing Festival, the nation's largest dance festival, proudly announces repertoire for its 10th annual series with George Balanchine's Concerto Barocco (performed byPennsylvania Ballet in its Chicago Dancing Festival debut), Alexander Ekman's Episode 31 (The Joffrey Ballet, originally commissioned in 2013), Christopher Wheeldon's After the Rain (The Joffrey Ballet) and a new work by world-renowned choreographer Randy Duncan set to an original score by five-time Emmy Award-winning, Chicago-based composer Andy Mitranas as part of Chicago Dancing Festival's first-time collaboration with Chicago Dancers United, among program highlights. This year's event will present five unique programs in five days across Chicago's top downtown venues - the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Jay Pritzker Pavilion at Millennium Park, the highly anticipated return to the Auditorium Theatre, and for the first time at Navy Pier in celebration of the Festival's 10th anniversary - August 23-27, 2016.

Arlene Shuler, New York City Center President & CEO, today announced the line-up for the 2016 Fall for Dance Festival. The 13th edition of the annual festival will feature a more international slate than ever before with 20 acclaimed dance companies and artists from across the country and around the world beginning September 26 through October 8. In keeping with City Center's commitment to make the best in the performing arts accessible to the widest possible audience, all tickets are $15. Tickets go on sale Saturday, September 10 at 11am.

Though it was hot and muggy on the evening of July 24th, 2016, the jam-packed audience at Manhattan Movement & Arts Center was grinning agog like newly minted parents infatuated with their brood. The cause: a troupe of adorable bambine from Staten Island Ballet performing Ellen Tharp's 'Tarantella'. Though only one of these girls was delivering the movement nel modo Italiano, they were all so lively with their tambourine strikes and hops that even the most curmudgeonly of audience members applauded with gusto.

Segerstrom Center for the Arts begins its 30th Anniversary celebration with another one-night-only star-studded evening of dance: Tour de Force III. The performance will be the first event to represent the array and diversity of the Center's artistic programming, in this case, 30 years of presenting the greatest ballet companies and the world's most celebrated dancers. Tour de Force III will be on Saturday, August 27 in Segerstrom Hall. Produced in collaboration with Ardani Artists, the program will include four Center premieres: Clay by Vladimir Varnava, Zeitgeist by Alastair Marriott, Tristesse by Marcelo Gomes and Le Divertissement du Roi by Maxim Petrov. The international cast includes Diana Vishneva, Joaquin de Luz, Marcelo Gomes, Denis Matvienko, Marcelino Sambe?, Friedemann Vogel and Edward Watson, as well as members of the The Royal Ballet, Mariinsky Ballet and the National Ballet of Canada.

The school trains students from the age of six, with professional vocational ballet training for students aged 11-18.
