Rehearsals started yesterday for The Alliance Theatre's production of Ugly Lies the Bone, a beautifully written drama about postwar recovery by Lindsey Ferrentino. Ugly Lies the Bone will run on the Hertz Stage at the Alliance Theatre September 16 - October 9, 2016. Opening night is Wednesday, September 21, 2016. Celebrating the unwavering bond that friendship brings, Aurora Theatre closes the curtain on its 20th anniversary season with a heartwarming presentation of the Tony Award-winning play I'm Not Rappaport, May 5-June 5! Based on the author's real-life encounter, the touching tale follows the daily ritual of two elderly men who inhabit a bench in New York City's bustling Central Park. While both dream of escaping the current realities of life - nursing homes, aging and dangers of urban living- they end up finding solace in each other's company and forming an irreplaceable friendship.

This evening, Suzi Bass Awards, Inc. revealed nominations for the 2014-2015 Atlanta professional theatrical season. The Suzi Nomination Party, which rotates venues, was hosted this year by Horizon Theatre. Guest announcers included the ladies of The Weird Sisters Theatre Project: Kelly Criss, Veronika Duerr, Jaclyn Hofmann, Tiffany Porter, and Megan Rose.

Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), North Fulton's only professional theatre company, will hold its annual gala event 'One Mysterious Evening' (formerly known as 'One Enchanted Evening') tonight, September 28th, 2013 at the Kimberly-Clark Campus, 1400 Holcomb Bridge Road, Roswell, GA. Attendees at this popular affair will honor Paul and Bowe Lang as the tenth annual recipients of the Georgia Ensemble Theatre Legacy Award.

After seeing the Horizon Theatre's new play on its sold-out opening night, I wouldn't have been surprised if it had opened with, 'This is the story of six friends picked to read a book and have their discussions taped to find out what happens when people stop being polite and start getting real... 'The Book Club Play'.' This new comedy by Atlanta-native Karen Zacarias, which runs through June 23rd, hysterically explores how literature can impact readers, especially when they are being filmed by a world-famous documentary filmmaker.
