The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts celebrated its highly anticipated grand premiere with the BROADWAY & BEYOND opening night concert-the first performance to be held in its new Walt Disney Theater and BroadwayWorld was there. On Saturday, November 15th, the arts community in Central Florida forever changed with the official opening of the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. On that night, Broadway icon Richard Jay-Alexander brought together an incredible group of talent to unveil the Walt Disney Theatre with BROADWAY & BEYOND, and BroadwayWorld was there!

When Well-Strung, 'The Singing String Quartet,' agreed to be a part of BROADWAY & BEYOND, the premiere event in the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts' Walt Disney Theatre, they knew they needed to come up with something special. So, over the past week, the group put together a very special mash-up from Disney's most recent megahit.

The performance will open the Walt Disney Theater during the Grand Premiere of Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts presented by Dr. Phillips Charities and Balfour Beatty Construction.

Rehearsals have been in full swing in New York City this week, and we have some exclusive messages sent to Orlando from cast members including Sierra Boggess, Well-Strung, the Broadway Kids and Michael Urie. More to come, show time is just a week away.

The Cuban-born, Miami resident-now well-known for successfully staging concerts with luminaries including Barbra Streisand, Bernadette Peters, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Kristin Chenoweth and Bette Midler-strikes again next week on November 15 when he directs the star-studded grand opening of the new Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts-a prestigious new venue that will both transform the city and reshape the way people think about Orlando as a destination for entertainment.

San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus (SFGMC) Artistic Director, Dr. Timothy Seelig, announced the holiday performances for the 37th season, featuring Dancers, Prancers & Vixens! with special guests Well-Strung, the singing string quartet, for three performances, December 12 - 13 at Nourse Theater (275 Hayes St, San Francisco). As an iconic San Francisco institution, SFGMC presents the traditions of the holidays in an only-in-San-Francisco way. Starring the 275 men of the chorus, appearances by Santa, his elves and reindeer, a 1980s nativity scene and an ugly sweater parade; the evening will present a festive twist on holiday traditions. The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts held auditions on Thursday, October 9 for a Central Florida-based singer between the ages of 9-14 with the goal of finding one girl to perform in Broadway & Beyond at the Walt Disney Theater on November 15.
