The 2013 New York International Fringe Festival has its first break-out hit with Ted Cubbin's new comedy The Rufus Equation, a world premiere production directed by Tom Ridgely, the Drama Desk-nominated director and co-founder of Waterwell. The Rufus Equation played to a sold out house this past Tuesday evening at The Connelly Theater (220 East 4th Street, NYC), the Fringe Festival's largest venue. In addition, this Saturday's performance (August 17 at 6:15 p.m.) is also sold-out.

Waterwell will provide a sneak preview of Otis Sallid and AaRon Jones' new musical, Hamelin, as the culmination of its inaugural Summer Theater Lab today, August 3 at 5pm at The Ailey Studios, 405 W 55th Street.

The cast and creative team of the world premiere musical HAMELIN, part of the Waterwell Summer Theater Lab, met the press today, August 2, and performed never-before-seen songs from the show! In attendance were Hamelin director/choreographer Otis Sallid, composer Aaron Jones, Waterwell Summer Theater Lab master class artist Lin-Manuel Miranda, director Victor Maog, and Waterwell artistic director Tom Ridgely. Wasps will run from July 24th through July 28th at the Connelly Theater. July 24th- 26th performances are at 8pm, July 27th at 5pm and 9pm, and July 28th at 2pm. Geoffrey Arend will lead the cast as Professor Bert Rufus. Arend's film and television credits include Garden State, Supertroopers, (500) Days of Summer, Save the Date, Beach Pillows, Devil, The Ringer, 'The Closer' (TNT), 'Law & Order' (NBC), 'Trust Me' (TNT) and 'Body of Proof' (ABC). Onstage he was seen in The American Pilot (MTC) and Mother Courage and Her Children (Public).

Richmond Theatre Critics Circle award winner and Company of Fools' founder RusTy Wilson returns to direct the Idaho premiere of the show with a standout cast that features Keith Moore, Denise Simone and Patsy Wygle and guest actors Hanna Cheek and Adrian Rieder. Other Desert Cities runs tonight, July 2-27, 2013 at the Liberty Theatre.

The Waterwell Drama Program announced today that it has been awarded a $20,000 Art Works grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to support its Performance Projects at the Professional Performing Arts School.

Waterwell announces that Smokey Joe's Cafe conceiver, director-choreographer Otis Sallid, and musician Aaron Jones will create a new musical based on The Pied Piper for their summer program. They join the previously announced Kyra Sedgwick ("The Closer"), Bobby Cannavale("Boardwalk Empire"), Stephen Adly Guirgis (Tony Nominee, The Mother****** with the Hat), Megan Hilty ("Smash"), Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights) and Beau Willimon ("House of Cards") who serve as Master Class Artists for the company's inaugural Summer Theater Lab. Casey McClellen and Kyle Pleasant also join the faculty.

Waterwell announces the addition of Kyra Sedgwick, Bobby Cannavale and Stephen Adly Guirgis to its roster of Master Class Artist's for the company's inaugural Summer Theater Lab. They join the previously announced Megan Hilty (Smash), Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights) and Beau Willimon (House of Cards). Faculty and commissioned artists will be announced shortly.

Waterwell, one of the Village Voice's Best Arguments for Devised Theater and creators of GOODBAR and #9, launches its Summer Theater Lab at the Professional Performing Arts School (PPAS) in Manhattan, under the leadership of Victor Maog, with world-class guest artists from the worlds of theater, television, and film. Collaboration Town in partnership with Sister Scars will present the World Premiere production of ALL GIRLS, written by Anna Greenfield (Norma and Claude Get Married at the Lee Strasberg Institute) and directed by Lee Sunday Evans (The Play About My Dad at 59E59). The production will feature Zoe Costello, Anna Greenfield, and Anna Ryan Konkle.

?The BMI-Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop announces its Winter Smoker, a semi-annual showcase for new songs from Workshop writers.
