And it works really well when the new musical is about finding your heroes, or, maybe even becoming one for yourself. Enter Fallout, a new musical by DC-native Nick Blaemire and musician/composer Kyle Jarrow, which just recently had a concert presentation at Feinstein's/54 Below in New York.

REP Associate Artistic Director Todd Salovey directs his first production of the season, tackling Pulitzer, Tony and Oscar-winner Shanley's not-so-average romantic comedy set in Ireland. The show's run begins tonight, Jan. 21, 2016 and runs through Valentine's Day on Feb. 14, 2016 with an opening night on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016 at 7 p.m. in the Lyceum Space Theatre at San Diego REP. Signature Theatre has announced the cast and creative team for the world premiere production of Cake Off, a new musical by Sheri Wilner (Kingdom City), Julia Jordan (Murder Ballad) and Adam Gwon (Signature's The Boy Detective Fails). Directed by Signature's Director of New Works Joe Calarco (Signature's Gypsy, Shakespeare's R&J) this hilarious new musical is a battle-of-the-sexes set at the 50th Annual Millberry Cake-Off competition. Cake Off runs September 29 - November 22 in the ARK Theatre.

The workshop will culminate in an invitation only presentation.
