Families across the Delaware Valley have made Walnut Street Theatre for Kids' production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol a Philadelphia tradition. This delightful musical adaptation of Dickens' classic novel is a wonderful and fun way for kids in grades K through 9th and their adult friends to celebrate the joys and warmth of the holiday season. Walnut Street Theatre's Independence Studio on 3 brings audiences Mark Brown's adaptation of Jules Verne's masterpiece Around the World in 80 Days. Philadelphia audiences will be the first to experience this wild adventure before it travels as the third national tour of a Walnut Street Theatre production. Around the World in 80 Days begins in Philadelphia with previews on January 15th, opens January 17th and runs through February 3rd in the intimate Independence Studio on 3.

Directed and choreographed by Marc Robin, this production will feature Philadelphia's very own Jeffrey Coon and Broadway's Jennifer Hope Wills. The cast also includes a live horse that will pull the Wells Fargo Wagon in the first act. THE MUSIC MAN runs now through January 6th on the WST Mainstage. The Fred Ebb Foundation (Mitchell Bernard, Trustee) in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) will present the eighth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Sam Willmott. The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, will be presented by David Hyde Pierce tonight, November 26th from 6-8pm at a by-invitation-only ceremony in the Penthouse Lobby of The American Airlines Theater.
