Golden Globe Award winner and Academy Award nominee Marsha Mason and Drama Desk Award winner and Tony Award nominee Paxton Whitehead will head the cast of Westport Country Playhouse's scintillating comedy of manners, 'The Circle,' written by W. Somerset Maugham and directed by Nicholas Martin, playing June 7 - 25. 'The Circle,' the second production in The Playhouse's 80th birthday year, is considered Maugham's wittiest play, a seamless blend of romance and repartee.

Westport Country Playhouse has released a video, taped in rehearsal, offering a look at the upcoming production (June 7 - 25) of 'The Circle,' a stylish comedy by W. Somerset Maugham, with insight from Mark Lamos, Westport Country Playhouse artistic director; Nicholas Martin, director of 'The Circle'; and cast members including Golden Globe Award winner and Academy Award nominee Marsha Mason and Drama Desk Award winner and Tony Award nominee Paxton Whitehead.

As a special 80th anniversary event for Westport Country Playhouse, noted actors Kathleen McNenny, Frances Sternhagen and Richard Thomas will star in a Script in Hand reading of A. R. Gurney's delightfully witty game of cat and mouse, "The Golden Age," on Monday, June 20, 7 p.m. Director is John Tillinger.

In an effort to make theater more accessible for early-career and younger patrons, Westport Country Playhouse is introducing a $25 ticket price for patrons aged 35 and under for all Friday evening performances during its 2011 season.

The festival will include iconic films, hard-boiled storytelling, graphic art, and music inspired by this quintessential American style.

Westport Country Playhouse announces its restaurant partners for the 2011 season, playing April 26 through November 5. Playhouse subscribers will receive discounts, many up to 20%, at partner restaurants upon presenting a ticket or stub on the day of their ticketed performance.
