Tony Award winner Bill Irwin will lend his talents to a gala benefit for New York University's Maison Française. Irwin will read a selection of Alexis de Tocqueville's Letters from America. The gala takes place at 6:30PM on Monday, November 9 at the Hotel Carlyle.

Albert Camus' rarely-seen 1948 play THE MISUNDERSTANDING will be performed Off-Broadway this fall, with an official press opening on November 2, 2009 at The Flea Theatre (41 White Street) in Manhattan. The 55th Annual Evening Standards Theatre Awards, honoring outstanding achievements in London Theater, today has released their long list of 2009 nominees.
